I remember one year my heating kept packing up and so all I had on was the gas fire in the lounge. Popped out of the room to the loo, came back to find the cat had rearranged things so that the fireside rug was completely wrapped around her with her head sticking out of the end like a giant cat swiss roll and she could bake in front of the fire.

We used to have a dog that sat so close to the gas fire she singed the top of her neck - she used to drop her head down and fry her brains and the smell of burning hair was horrid!

Hehe my cousin used to have a cat who regularly set his backside on fire dangling his tail too close to the fire - you'd get sparks flying from his back end and the cat was just oblivious to it.

I just appear to have a 7 year old greyhound who thinks she's a puppy right now! (She's discovered BALLS!)
