First I get an email from a council officer telling me that the way he's going to investigate a suspected (i.e. I can prove it!) crossbreed puppy farmers is by contacting the KC and seeing how many litters the breeders have registered.

FFS, they're crossbreeds! I told you that! Several times! They won't be registered with the KC, they can't be registered with the KC! Dork!

Then I had someone unpleasant - whom I know, sadly - trespassing onto my property and making demands. When I told them to go away and shut the door they repeatedly hammered on doors and, I found when they'd left, left my garden gate open so that my dogs could get into the street or onto the railway. They KNOW the routine of securing that gate and they know why it's done, there is NO WAY on hell, heaven or earth that was an accident.

*NB, dogs are only allowed in garden, which they access via a door in the kitchen, when I am in the garden or in the kitchen and can see and hear them at all times. I normally open the back door and just let them run, safe in the knowledge that the gate is secured in such a way that they cannot get out of it.

I've had enough :( , I'm going to call the rescue and ask if we can stay in their caravan and help out for a few days. Now I need someone to feed the bloody cats... and haven't anyone to ask! Great!

Add to that my goldfish impression when I learned of a couple's approach to rescue asking them to take on their 17 week old Jack Russell pup because their baby had arrived and they "can't cope with both".

So the nasty cow would have been what, 7 months pregnant when she bought the puppy? Having a baby was hardly something she didn't know was going to happen, was it?

Rescue couldn't jump to her demands as fast as she wanted so the stupid waste of space sold the puppy "to a farmer in [East Anglia large TOWN]".... via Gumtree!

Right, Council officer first. Much easier if you assume all are twonks, then you wont' be disappointed. Bear in mind they probably have minimal interaction with licensed premises, may not know one end of a dog from another and could well spend the rest of their time dealing with taxi licensing. If you need any help, give me a shout. If he's still being a twonk after a few days, then escalate firmly to Chief Officer and Portfolio holder.

Report local idiot to police - insist on them noting details - this is ASB, and they should be taking it seriously.

And yes, couple who can't cope with dog and with baby - number one reason for rehoming .

Get yourself off for some nice stress free mucking out/walking/general assisting and it will help clear the mind.

Personally, chickchickchicken, I think an M16A14 is too good for them. I think a rusty pitchfork into a very delicate place, then twisted slowly, would be far more effective, because they could be reminded of their stupid actions, and why they were stupid, whilst you did it. At least then you could also claim that it was an "educational" experience for them!

A sincere "thank you" to you all.

Now it's sorted I can explain, was too stressed to last night.The arsey door-banger was a teenage 'running wild' relative who a few of the family are not best pleased with atm. Apparently I had some stuff of theirs (discovered since I actually do have it, left here last time they were here).

They decided to go to the police - someone else let me know they were but not why so all last night I was worried what the feck I was being accused of, knowing I haven't done wrong but wondering what the latest attention seeking trick was.

A phone call from the police sorted it tonight, very nice PC (young but sympathetic to adult suffering teenage behaviour) is happy for me to drop stuff at someone else's house so they can hand it over and is going to warn twonk about harassment, trespass and breach of the peace if they cause me grief again.

Apologies that I haven't answered pms yet, was so bloody stressed and upset last night and all today. I'm going to chill with a glass of red tonight, will be out tomorrow but will answer tomorrow evening, promise.

Glad it's sorted, DBF. I too have had a frustrating couple of days with dog "owners"

First a young guy who apparently "rescued" a 6wk-old puppy but wants to keep it, and will I vaccinate it etc for free. I explained to him that the SSPCA/rescue would be able to find the dog a good home (they are actually pretty good up here), but he wants to keep it. I gently point out to him that the cost of vaccines is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to dog ownership costs, but he merrily wanders off to see if the long-suffering PDSA will accomodate his desire to have an animal he can't afford and has no intention of paying for anything for

then I had to PTS a young-ish dog for biting a child, and the owner rationalised that the dog had "brought it on itself. It's (its) own fault" But once a dog has bitten, and the owner wants PTS (apparently this wasn't the first time) I have no choice, really. Felt really shit

Add to that the fact that I can't persuade most of my cross-puppy owners to have their bitch spayed, despite reasoned talk of strain of pregnancy on bitch/ unwanted puppies/ responsibility of sensible breeding, because they all want "to take a litter off her", no doubt seeing £££ signs, and encouraged by the fact ridiculous and unregulated crosses are going for stupid money...

And don't tal to me about the local council......
