so how come some posters have the right to close a thread and then repost other peoples threads after editing the posts herself?

OP posts:
DogsBestFriend · 20/07/2011 22:06

As I said, I edited, with the OP's full consent, comment which could be harmful to specific dogs and also general chit chat which would muddy the water and detract from what turned out to be the OP's (and other poster's) main concern, which is spotting a puppy farmer.

If any of the posters on the original thread would like me to pm them what they said wrt "off topic" matters, such as shedding, buying a Poodle, links to a rescue, etc so that they can re-post those remarks I'm more than happy to provide them with an email of their verbatim remarks, taken from a copy and paste of the original thread and then they can do so.

I will NOT under any circumstances forward the links/info which could identify certain individuals and thus put dogs at risk.

Thank you Dita and Grimma, amongst others... I am passionate about dog welfare and I have on this occasion, as I always do, worked for the dog, not the owner nor the prospective owner and not for myself. I'm sorry that I cannot be more transparent than this. I apologise if I have offended any posters upon the original thread and will, as I've said, make efforts for them to put me straight on that and to repost their comments. I will not, although the OP here is clearly doubting my motives, jeopardise dogs lives.

DogsBestFriend · 20/07/2011 22:11

Newchicken, funny you should say that. Over the past couple of months I've stepped back from a fair bit of the "dog stuff" I do, not because of the dogs but because I'm fed up with the constant criticism and bitching (not just from MN, that's the least of it, rescue is worse than Miss World for backbiting!).

YOU lot get peace and quiet, I have a far easier life, but who suffers without the rescuers, campaigners and animal rights supporters to fight their corner... ?

MotherJack · 20/07/2011 22:19

Ah, DBF. MN is full of... well... everyone, with their different views and agendas. I like yours. In the main, you outspoken old biddy, you Wink

DooinMeCleanin · 20/07/2011 22:22

I posted on that thread I think. I can't remember what I posted, but I think it was on my threads I'm on. I am very annoyed that my posts weren't copied.

Okay, I'm not really annoyed at all Grin

But my posts will not have been derogatory about doodles or spoodles or what not. I like all dogs Smile, they also will not have had any usefull info on avoiding puppy farmers because it is not something I am knowledgable about.

I'm sure regulars on here know that DBF is not in the habit of regularly requesting that other people's posts are edited or deleted. If she has a problem with something someone has posted, she is more than capable of making her problem known on that thread Grin

Are you new on MN veryconfusedagain? Not that it matters of course, just wondering why you didn't think to air your concerns to the Op, DBF or MNHQ instead of starting a thread comlpaining about a thread you didn't have much to do with iirc?

I'm here. My children were attempting to murder each other over a broken Ariel costume and the holidays haven't even started yet [wibble]. One of them is going away for a few days on Friday. I am looking forward to Friday [meanmummy] Grin

Off the point slightly, but thank you to DBF. I posted a few months ago about what breed of puppy to get, and DBF (then under her previous name) suggested a rescue dog. A couple of months ago we adopted a 15 week old rescue pup. He is brilliant and he has slotted into our family as if he was fated to be here! So thank you DBF Smile Smile

DogsBestFriend · 21/07/2011 10:20

No thanks needed, glad I said something which has resulted in you being happy and a dog's life being saved, slinkyboo. :)

I do "charge" for this service though... so c'mon, where're the photos? :o
