Has anyone heard of...

little volcano rocks that you can put in dog's drinking water bowl, that then stops their pee burning your lawn? A friend mentioned them to me today, that her friend in London had them. Do they exist and do they work? And if so, where can I get some?

dog rocks yes they work for most dogs so does very cheap tomato ketchup squirted in food but that can be high in sugar

I was reading about Dog Rocks in one of the dog magazines. I dont bother with them, because to be frank - I have less grass in my garden and more dusty, lunar craters at the moment!

Once my garden is 'done' then I might consider them. Boydog doesnt yellow the grass, madame does.

I bought Dog Rocks once....

10 minutes after putting them (they cost £10 too!) in the water bowl I went into the kitchen to find them gone. Immediately cue me searching the garden frantically for them on the off chance my wierd dogs had taken them outside and thinking taking 4 dogs to the vet to decide which one had eaten them wasn't going to be very cheap! After a while of getting very panicky I decided to ask DS2, about 9 at the time, if he had taken anything out of the dogs' water bowl. He said 'oh, yes, they'd put some stone sout of the garden in there so I took them out and put them in the bin, then changed their water'.

I just left them in the bin after that... instead we fenced off the grass so the dogs only have access to it when we let them, which has kept the lawn nice. (well, until the hens ruined it.... )

I don't have any experience of them but Pets at Home stock them for around a tenner.

at Midori's post! Ours were thrown out onto the drive after my mother had been here for the day and I also had to go and retrieve them. Had some strange looks/ comments from visitors too.

You have to change them quite regularly, we used them for about 18months and they worked brilliantly at first but became less and less effective despite following all the instructions.
