How long would it take to train a dog to 'point' at the presence of hedgehogs?

mine didn't need any training to point at biscuits or food dropped on floor

As long as they only "point" and don't touch.
My cat caught a tick which the vet blamed on hedgehogs.
Result, one very annoyed cat,made her limp, trip to vet to have darned thing hoiked out, much screeching from cat and a few less layers of skin for me.

Step away from the hegdehogs!
