Update on my Dad's Whippet

It was parvo that killed the Staff Sad, the vets confirmed it a few days ago. But we can't be sure whether she picked it up at the pound or elsewhere, as no other dog at the pound showed any signs of it, so there is nothing we can do.

The Whippet settled in well. She is a nutter, but a lovely nutter. She went back to be spayed this week. He is picking her up in the morning and she is staying with them for good Smile

The ladies in the rescue are that pleased with the work he has done with her, in improving her recall and calming her down, they have an equally loopy Saluki lined up for him to foster and train for a few weeks prior to her being ready to rehome, once the Whippet is recovered and my Dad has had his op.

Looks like he has found himself a new little project.

"she is staying with them for good"

Told you so, ner! :o

That's great news. :)

Poor Staffie, and all those she came into contact with though. :(

My mum now likes to think that Sadie was 'sent to them' to guide them towards the Whippet and the local rescues, so that they can be of more help to more dogs. (I never said my family was normal Grin)

She is not happy about the Saluki, but as always she'll get over it quick enough Smile

Poor Sadie Sad

But great news that he has found himself a whippet Smile

Brace yourself for a Saluki though, they are a a whole new level of stubborn, loopy impossibleness. I swear nobody would own one if it wasn't for the fact that they are so heartbreakingly beautiful Grin
