Frontline kills fleas within 24 hours - meaning that when a flea lands on your dog it can take 24 hours to die. The only better option is Advocate that kills fleas within 2 hours.

my dog has obviously been a meal for fleas and is incredibly itchy,is there anything i can do to ease his discomfort? he's much worse at night,i guess he gets warm and the itching becomes worse.

Using Evening primrose oil can help these dogs a little.

I think there is some resistance to frontline developing. Both my dog and cat were on it a year or so ago and I could not get on top of fleas. When I protested to the vet, he almost drowned the poor cat in it - sprayed her until she was dripping. She was quite ill after it. Yet still we had fleas.

When we got our pup, I used the opportunity to register with a different vet as I wasn't happy that my pets were suffering but he wouldn't listen. They are now all on advocate and not a flea in sight on any of them since we got Poppy nearly a year ago.

Looks like Advocate is the way to go Smile
