Some dogs are gross

Last night i took my dog for a walk on the field over the road. She ran to the neighbours front garden and wouldnt come in. I eventually got her in and she absolutely stank. My friend asked if she had rolled in manure. I said thats not manure it awful. My hole house stank a horrible sickly seet smell. I showered her twice to get rid of the smell. Anyway when i took her out today she made a bee-line for the garden again. Its open plan so i went to see what she was doing.

I could not believe what the smell was. Someone had buried a dead cat about a foot under the ground in a black bag. She was rolling in the corpse of the decoimposing rotten cat which was exposed. Shock

When i washed her yesterday i had no gloves on and i feel ill thinking about what i washed off her. I have just had to bath her again but obviously this time it was worse as i knew what i was washing off.

Just thought i would share this story and see if anyone else has any gross stories Smile

That is hideous!!!

my dogs can be rank, but have never rolled in rotting animal flesh haha

The house has a 2 let sign up as the tenants have just moved out last week. I am going to have to ring the estate agent tommorrow to see if someone will move it. Im assuming the fox that has been seen roaming may have dug it up. urrghh

My 2 rolled in the innards of a rotting deer at 7am in the morning before the school run. I had to hose and shampoo them and clear up the carcass. The DCs were late. What i have never worked out is how the carcass ended up in the middle of our garden....... very strong fox? badger?

But the top level of grossness was clearing up after my lab vomited up a rich liquid slurry of the dog poo he had eaten onto the sitting room carpet. He now wears a basket muzzle when out.

My dog went to the groomers last week, and they did a lovely job, which was very expensive. They had added a bow onto his collar and he was very embarrassed.

When I collected him, he was in real need of a walk so we went to the park. He found the most disgusting runny foxes poo and covered himself in it. He needed a shower as soon as we got home.

Summersoon · 16/05/2011 22:42

You are all kidding, right? Please tell me you are making this up!

I would love to get a dog - have wanted one for a long time - and every once in a while I think "perhaps if we" and"maybe we could" and then people put up posts like these and I laugh and shudder and think "hmm, perhaps we are really too busy, maybe one year".....

Beamur · 16/05/2011 22:45

My dog would be over the moon if she found something dead to roll in.
Madsometimes - my dog was groomed recently and promptly rolled in the first poo she found when walked.

I think the poo-vomit is winning hands down though on this thread!

MotherJack · 16/05/2011 23:08

I'm not convinced, personally, Beamur. I can deal with poo and I can deal with vomit and as gross as it is I could deal with the combination. I can't, however, deal with rotting animal so my vote goes to OP.

And now off to bed for sweet dreams Confused

Mine regards vomiting as an opportunity to relive the joy of breakfast for a second time.

Vile beast!

My old dog Boots, sadly deceased for many years, used to roll on dead fish and entrails that fishermen had left behind. She would also wee in puddles and then have a drink. Her favourite playmate in the park used to hump her head and then wee on her before departing. She was very pretty and looked like something off a chocolate box - character did not match!

ellangirl · 17/05/2011 09:00

Watching my dog wrestling with another dog over a rabbit was pretty gross. The rabbits head did eventually depart company with its body. My puppy likes to pick up the bird carcasses that the cat leaves in the garden. Yuk!

QuincyMincemeat · 17/05/2011 09:05

mine has done, month old decomposed fish (eaten)

decapitated, decomposed frog (rolled in)

One dog walks past it an pays no attention but the other one who rolled in the cat was itching at the lead to get to it today. My mams dog eats its own poo but non of mine have ever done this. Its not all dogs, just some

The cat has still not been removed after numerous phone call and it stinks.

One of my dogs is disgusting, he loves rotting rabbit carcasses, cat poo (or even human poo which he came across behind the village hall Shock). He has also eaten the bonfire cold ashes then puked them up on my cream carpet, the list goes on.............
