I was advised by a colleague not to buy a proper dog bed for inside our crate but instead to use cheap fleece blankets - like the Ikea ones as these would be cheap and easy to wash and replace. I'm just a bit worried that they wont be that comfy for the puppy (we dont have it yet). Any views would be great. Thanks.

When we got our pup she had an old cushion and fleece blankets in her crate, easy to wash and change if she had any accidents.
I'd also suggest that when you do buy a proper bed that you don't spend too much on it, ours ripped her first two to bits! Grin

I have a cheapo pet bed from home bargainst at £6.99 its basically a large soft cushion, cheap to replace, washable and does the job. I did (briefly) look at the pink fluffy very expensive deluxe version in pets at home then remembered what she has done to her basket.....

Another recommending Vetbed. It is durable, washes and is great.

My 9 month old has that in her crate and my 2yr old got a 'proper bed' in March. It is waterproof, huge and comfy - both dogs lie on it, but I am not getting one for pup until she is older and non chewy. Grin

Thanks everyone - I like the look of the vet beds and they don't seem too dear. Will also look at home bargains as someone also said they were good for dog things. Thanks.

I actually have an ikea fleece blanket in the crate. So far so good! Think ebay is the place to get vet bed at a good price.
