I'm unsure whether my new puppy is actually 100% staff (from a pet shop, no papers). She is almost 11 weeks (has grown a LOT in the last 10 days) and seems quite big for a pure SBT, has quite big ears, and has quite a long muzzle. Actually, when she rolls over for a belly tickle she looks like a fruit bat her ears are so large! my interest is purely academic, she is with us for good, just curious!

The short answer is you won't ever know, no matter what she looks like.

It's so sad that pet shops are even still legally allowed to sell puppies, without even mentioning the sort of scum that sell them to pet shops in the first place. Sad

Mine has quite a long muzzle too. (Pics on profile)

I was told that SBT's are supposed to be quite sleek, not stocky, bodybuilder-on-steroids looking.

Oh and I'll swap you for my --bugger- baby!

PersonalClown · 15/05/2011 19:22

bugger

midori - you are so right on this one. DH unfortunately is rather clueless, and just thought the puppies had been bred perhaps by accident? He took a while to believe me when I said they had almost certainly been bred by someone with a bitch, whose friend happened to have a dog, and thought they'd make a quick buck. Any breed enthusiast wouldnt breed except from registered and probably DNA tested parents, and would want to know the homes their puppies ended up in, they certainly wouldnt send them off to the nearest pet shop!

Tbh, it's probanbly better if she isn't a pure bred Staffies as they carry some quite serious health problems that are highly unlikely to have been tested for in her case.

Good luck with her, she's a cutie whatever she is. Smile We have a staff cross here and he is gorgeous in every way.

oh she is definately cute, but a proper little bugger terrier. Very lovable though, except when she's eating my carpet!

I have no idea if she is pure staff but had to post to say my heart melted when I looked at the photo of her. What a cutie
