Poor wee doggy been to specialist this morning with ulcers on both eyes.. had a treatment on one of them and the other will heal with drops. He has been prescribe Opptimune for dry eyes, which he has to take for life. At the cost of £28 per tube ! I appreciate he needs this medicine, the vet said buy it online as it is cheaper as to get from vets is £40 +..

anyone got any recommendations for where to purchase and if there is any generic alternative?

thanks

You will need a prescription from a vet to purchase on -line there are many UK pharmacies who will dispense and are reputable. There are no generic alternatives (vets are not allowed to prescribe generics) as this product is not used in humans - they allow them to suffer the pain. I have one human ophthalmologist who writes private prescriptions to our clinic and we dispense optimmune to a select few of his human patients in very special circumstances.
