Old dog has started to be aggressive

I'm feeling really wretched about this and hoping someone may have some advice.

I have an old gsd cross (about 14yo). I've had her since she was a young adult - she was feral and starving when I got her from a supermarket car park (not in the UK).

Unsurprisingly, given her bad beginning, she's always been a bit tricky around strange dogs, although she'd calmed down a lot in recent years after a lot of work.

We've always had other dogs at home as well, and she's been fine with them after an initial few days/weeks of showing her dominance. We have two young English setter/spaniel crosses who we've had since they were 8 or 9 weeks old. They're 18 months now, and in the last 3 weeks, the old girl has suddenly started to attack one of them (only one, she still plays with the other) despite him never showing her any aggression. He is getting afraid to go near her, and we've had to start feeding them out of sight of each other.

Tbh the old girl is not well (various problems including bowel issues and quite a big tumour) and I am wondering if this is terminal decline, or if I can do anything to alleviate the antagonism. She's not showing signs of being in serious pain, although a little achey and obv. a lot slower than she used to be, but she has always been unbelievably stoic.

Sorry this is so long - not even sure what I'm asking really, I'm just worried. Has anyone been in a similar situation?
