Getting close to decision-day re: getting a dog. It'd almost certainly be a cockapoo and male.
What could we call him?
Ideas so far: Monty, Theo, Ted.
Now we're stuck. What have you all plumped for?

Martin

Martin is a fantastic name for a dog - i currently have three but if i ever got a male pup i would call him Martin....

ZillahWhoDrankTooMuchGin · 17/04/2011 23:28

Or failing that, Geoff....

ditavonteesed · 18/04/2011 08:01

Eric is a good name. I want an eric, in fact hopefully next year.

Asinine · 18/04/2011 08:03

Leo

SoupDragon · 18/04/2011 08:05

Monty is too highbrow for a cockerpoo I think. A Monty is something traditional like a setter.

largeginandtonic · 18/04/2011 08:05

We have a german shorthaired pointer, Rupert.

clam · 18/04/2011 09:11

Ah, now DH suggested Rupert. I rather like Leo.
Eric's cute.
Keep 'em coming...

I have a Reggie, on the look out for a friend who will be named Louie.

I REALLY want a Dave though Blush

Unless i end up with a Sharpei as that one will be Hippo Grin

Love Theo and Ted

chicaguapa · 19/04/2011 00:46

I've always wanted a dog called Dave too! Grin

chicaguapa · 19/04/2011 00:48

Maxwell
Cookie (more for a girl I suppose)

I can dig out DD's Nintendogs game in the morning. She's got loads of dog's names. :)

adalle · 19/04/2011 01:12

Pip or Pippin or both

emptyshell · 19/04/2011 12:42

Imagine yourself out in the park yelling any prospective names at full blast (as dog's trying to hump some elderly lady's Westie)... if you imagine you'll feel a prat yelling it - scratch name off list.

We disregarded Gandalf (even though he would have really suited it because he's all beardy and shaggy with big eyebrows) and Enigma (because it might have been mistaken for N.. ger at a distance) on the park prat criteria.

Sportsmum · 19/04/2011 17:15

Bruno
Ben
Scooby

stleger · 19/04/2011 17:36

Lots of dogs called Max in our park - ddog included, though he was named by previous owners. If you shout Max when community playgroup is opening you get a selection of dogs and small boys! (So Max is best avoided)

clam · 19/04/2011 19:02

Yes, I can see that. My sister's previous dog was Max and my SIL's current one is too. so would be a non-starter anyway.

EllAEllO · 19/04/2011 22:05

I also like Dave! Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 19/04/2011 23:12
