CKCS was castrated on Tuesday as some of you will know from other thread. I thought Beagle would be the one I had problems with - wrong.

Took them for post op check Friday and CKCS had apparently been licking his scrotum. I said well not while I have been with him so he must be able to reach with collar on, so vet changed for bigger collar, and gave me gel to put on him. He has obviously been uncomfortable but was much worse today, has not been himself at all, not wanting to walk, sitting with bum right underneath him, then this afternoon his breathing became laboured and very noisy.

Even DH thought it wasn't right so took him to emergency vet. She was lovely, said he was in pain and breathing was his way of dealing with it, she has kept him in overnight and is giving him stronger pain killers and keeping an eye on breathing.

Unless we hear otherwise we will pick him up in morning.

Bless him, he was sad, and yelping on way there so obviously not right.

I feel much happier knowing he is being looked after by the experts and can't wait to see him tomorrow.

Emergency vet is not at usual vets. Am a bit annoyed at usual vets you'd think they knew right size collar - or am I being harsh.?

I would have assumed they would give you the right size collar, poor boy, hope he is a lot better this morning.
