last night at training was a complete nightmare, when we got there and the dogs were playing #i realised I was actually frigtened. anyway in class dog would not go into a down I tried to put her in a down and she snapped at me. teacher asked me to be careful as I am jumping six foot when dog bares her teeth at me, which I am. anyway I then put her into a down without jumping and she nipped me quite hard. Teacher came to help and said when she was in a down she was so tense and obviously frightened.
now to sum up a couple of weeks ago she got bitten which wa entirley my fault, I saw a dog on lead so put her on lead and walked past but obviously too close and dog lunged at her and caught her.
Also me and the kids were intimidated by a dog on the way to school, also a couple of weeks ago, the dog was circling and snarling and lunging at us, I pulled the kids behind me and was circling to face the dog so it couldnt get near the children.
Anyway I think I have giot a bit frigtened of dogs which I need to get over very quickly, I was walking with a friend who has the most gentle very large dog and every time he barked or made any noise really I was jumoing. yestersday she was playing with my friend (who will probably see this hi waves) puppy and they were getting giddy and again I was getting nervous.
I hink I have passed this on to her and that is why she wont go down for me (submissive position).
On walks I have been putting her back on the lead every time I see another dog, I know I am not doing the dog any good so how do I stop this?
