Hoping for some words of wisdom.
3 yr old labrador, spayed when she was 15 months old. Past week or so has been very 'flirtatious' around other dogs (we meet same group of dogs for walks every morning) - moving tail to the side, other dogs sniffing intently. Also, her behaviour has deteriorated, running off, poor recall etc. Has been mounted a couple of times, but doesn't seem to mind.
Today she was mounted by another lab, ending up with them being 'tied' for about 20 mins. Has been lying on the sofa looking really sorry for herself ever since.
I have read conflicting information about whether or not spayed bitched still give off a scent when they would have had a season, and nothing about the mating process (could she get hurt etc.) This is the first time it has happened, and there has not been any bleeding.
I am planning to take her to the vets tomorrow, but do you think this is nothing more than an inconvenience that will pass?
Many thanks.
