Best place to buy an adult pug?

I want to get my mother a pug and she is 70 so a puppy would not be suitable really. She has had a pug in the past and has always wanted another. Her cat was hit by a car last year and killed and I know she needs company.
I have looked at the ads on preloved and freeads etc but adults are hard to find and it all feels a bit seedy somehow.
I did contact a local breeder who retires his bitches but none are due to retire until next year.
Any other avenues or does anyone know a black pug needing a new and loving home? [hopeful]

Rescue centres?

Thanks. I have emailed the pug welfare and rescue site. General rescue centres are hard to search for specific breeds unless you are after a staffie or staffie cross. It is a scandal how many of those are in rescue centres. Sad
