and where from? just having a quick look and noticed that amazon do frontline and drontal. I though you could only get them from the vets.

I get mine from Petmeds. Cheaper than the vets and they don't take very long to arrive in the post.

JaxTellersOldLady · 03/03/2011 12:59

petmeds here too.

CalamityKate · 03/03/2011 13:38

Petmeds.

mmsmum · 03/03/2011 14:50

I thought I was missing something and checked petmeds but they are the same price as my vet, if they add p&p they will be more expensive

chickchickchicken · 03/03/2011 20:17

i use medic animal

winesgoodplease · 03/03/2011 20:43

VetUK or whoever is the cheapest! Don't see how you can go wrong if you are buying brand like frontline or drontal.

Baffledandbewildered · 04/03/2011 21:46

no they dont need perscriptions for these so buy on line . ialways do its loads cheaper

Lizcat · 05/03/2011 11:15

Please make sure that the websites you are using are UK based. The veterinary medicines directorate has recently found that there several non -UK website selling counterfeit veterinary medicines online. Shortly they will be regulating the websites and there will be a logo to look for, but currently they advise you to look for a UK contact address.

JaxTellersOldLady · 06/03/2011 11:04

good post lizcat - I am sure Petmeds are UK based as are Millbry hill.

You know, I do mind paying over the odds for things that are necessary for my animals, but wont put the dogs/cat at risk either.

TheDogsBollocks · 06/03/2011 12:15

i get mine from bestpetpharmarcy and go through quidco to save even more. Smile

Vallhala · 06/03/2011 12:37

Good point Lizcat. Someone I know recently found Advocate, which is prescription only, available online without a prescription. Then the site just closed and upon investigating it was discovered that the meds were coming over from the Bahamas and not licensed in the UK.

Essentially the buyer was buying illegal drugs, it appears, albeit unknowingly!

ohfuschia · 06/03/2011 12:45

I've used Bestpet and Vetuk, both good service.

JaxTellersOldLady · 06/03/2011 14:29

The thing is, if you know it needs a prescription and you need to go to the vets, then that is the best and obvious place to buy it.

Although with Petmeds if you get the script from vet they will fulfil the prescription for you. But I feel cheeky doing that, so get it at the vets.

TheDogsBollocks · 06/03/2011 16:00

I have to pay my vet £12 per script to take away and get from online pharmacy. You will need to check first if it is a prescription med as not always worth it. If your pet needs more than one different med, then each one is a £12 fee, before you start buying from elsewhere.

That said, it can still be cheaper online, and would never buy wormers at the vet as the prices are through the roof.

JaxTellersOldLady · 06/03/2011 18:10

TDB I dont know if my vet charges for scripts or not, I will enquire when we are next there.
