Fishmongers Dog Food?

I popped into Pets At Home for cat litter today and decided to look at the dog foods. They have started stocking a brand called 'Fishmongers' and have salmon or white fish and potato varieties, both containing 60% fish and no cereals.

Has anyone used it? I decided to get a bag to tide us over until the Fish4Dogs arrives. It's very fishy smelling, but the dogs seem to like it.

It was £29.99 for a 10KG bag, so more expensive than Fish4dogs for me, but it seems very similar.

I've had a look at their website but it's not on there - must be very new! Have a look at the anaylisis on the back - you want something about 20% protein. Also, check the ingredients. Is it "meat" or "Meat derivatives"?

Thanks for replying. I have fished (no pun intended!) the bag out of the wheelie. My DH has no idea that I need to read these things repeatedly... It seems to be actually made by Pets at Home.

The ingredients are:

• white fish meal (min 30%)
• potato (min 29%)
• white fish (min 21%)
• fish oil (min 8%)
• sugar beet pulp
• fish digest (min 2%)
• brewers yeast
• minerals

plus a few other vitamin/mineral type ingredients. Overall fish content, 60% fish. It is 25% protein, but I'm not worried about that as all high meat/fish content foods are the same.

It does work out a bit more expensive that Fish4dogs, so I wouldn't use it long term, but it's handy to be able to grab a bag if I ever need it as Fish4dogs is mail order only.

I suppose if it's new then not many people will have trid it. It's just that 'on paper' it looks very good and I wondered what experience people had of it.

On the downside, my whole house stinks of fish as the dog food bin lid is broken.
