Crate question?

Me again! Grin

Brunos crate is coming on Monday, (due to me not expecting him for another week!!) so I'm reading up on crate training as much as possible. Many of the websites I've been on say to put his food bowl in to get him in there, am I right in thinking you dont keep it in there? I dont want him to over eat and am trying to get him out the habit of eating at night time?

I feed my puppy in her crate then remove the bowl after she is finished eating. Do not leave food in the bowl all the time or leave the bowl in the crate - if your puppy is anything like mine it will get tossed around as a toy which is highly annoying. Grin

oh and he wont over eat if you dont over fill the bowl. I fed mine 4 times a day and now reduced to 3 times a day.

thanks jax that makes sense Grin I'm trying to get him in an eating routine (preferably when we're having breakfast, lunch and dinner) then just before bed as he was 'grazing' for the first day or so.
