Valhala - collie needing rehoming

Val I have just been "given" a 11 month old male collie who has issues with other dogs.

His owners tied him to my car doors then did a runner and I found him there this morning I am aware of him as I had been called in to help with his training. He is lovely with people but cannot tolerate dogs at all.

He is ok with my lot at home but meeting a new dog and he is hard work. I would love to keep him but I have three foster dogs at the moment with other "issues" I am getting ready for rehoming and my existing 5 so space is becoming a bit of an issue!

I have contacted Valgrays who are bursting at the seams do you know of any other rescue or fosters who could help me with this one? He can stay with me as long as it takes just don't tell OH!!

What utter, callous bastards! Thank god for the dog that they left him for you rather than threw him in the street (albeit tied to ayour car overnight, the trashpots), but talk about take advantage of your good nature...

I was going to suggest Val, she'd have been ideal. Have you tried Wiccaweys?

I'd also try Heathlands, they're very reliable and decent.

Whilst you're at it, if you want me to do so I'll post some details on some of the rescue forums too. If so please can you pm me if he's neutered, vaxed, his colour (I take it he's a BC?), his temperament with children and cats and your whereabouts (county/nearest town better still). Oh, and whether you'd like to have yourself as the cnntact for further info or for folk to reach you via me and if the former an email address and/or phone number. No offence taken if you'd rather I didn't do this of course. :)

I can see how you ended up with so many, every time I see a post like this I wish I could take them. No way I can have this one though, our boy is himself not great with other dogs he doesn't know that aren't very, very well socialised (unfortunately almost all the dogs round here!) and we're almost there but still working on that, so there's no way I could have another at the moment, nor do I know anyone who could offer a good enough home.

Ok I am a sucker. Collie staying with me until his dog issues have been addressed and then he will be put up for rehoming. Luckily my OH is as stupid as me

Me if your in herts, I need to train T how to just walk without playing, so would be great for us too :)
He has no dog issues what so ever and is very sweet, just young and fun loving LOL

where are you Minimu? I am in Bucks and will happily walk when I go back home.

Sorry lost this thread somewhere I am in Surrey/Hants borders.

The collie is certainly work in progress. He can tolerate my dogs at home to a degree but seeing any dog out and about is quite traumatic for him so we are taking lots of very very little steps at the moment.

Parallal walking with me in Surrey and you guys in other counties is probably as near as I can get the collie to other dogs at the moment!!!

lol minimu when you are ready I could come meet somewhere and we could walk. Virginia Water or Bushy park. No idea how close those are to you though.
