Poor BigDog. He smells really bad and is looking somewhat decrepit.

He hates being bathed or brushed so doesn't get done often.

His breath is foul. Doesn't help that he has a penchent for catshit.

He breaks wind ver often.

Is he just going to get worse for the next 8 years? He's 11 and a collie.

Yes.

(That's not very helpful, is it? Grin)

No he shouldn't smell bad.

I would go and get a vet checkup. He could have bad teeth or issues with anal glans or loads of reasons that can be treated.

Old dogs do not need to smell.

You could get me started on BARF diets here but I will resist Grin

Sorry - I was being facetious on my way out the house and just answering the 'will it get worse?' bit [shame faced]

Very bad breath can be related to kidney problems and if he is looking a bit decrepit too then I would get him to the vet for the check-up Minimu more maturely suggested.

Oh, go on Minimu... tell us about BARF diets. My dog has awful breath too.
