We have a collieXkelpie who is nearly 2 and have been looking for a new dog for a while, I found a localish rescue centre a few weeks ago and yesterday saw Oscar www.woodsidesanctuary.org.uk/Takemehome/Dogs/tabid/150/Default.aspx

We went there today and walked him then he and Penny had a play in the field and we're going up tomorrow to take him for a longer walk. He is a little timid but has only been at the rescue for 2 days so everything is quite strange. I'm very excited, we have our home check on Tuesday and he is being neutered this week, so it shouldn't be too long Grin

I started looking after we'd had our rescue dog about a month but she's been here around 20 months now and would love a friend (as I've been telling dp) There were some really lovely dogs including a beautiful blonde GSD and a staffyX but we've been after a collie.

BobLob, he's beautiful. My is he going to keep you on your toes! :o

But did you have to mention the blonde GSD? See my profile pics, you'll see why I'm telling you off!

Good luck with it all, I hope he's with you soon. :)

BobLoblaw · 29/01/2011 19:18

Aww Vallhala your dogs are gorgeous, the GSD today looked a lot like yours but he had blue eyes, may have been a X something but it didn't say.

Oscar seemed to be a match for Penny, they raced around the field together, and we have some lovely fields/doggy parks around here :) Bonnie was lovely too but I couldn't look at Oscar's eyes and not have him. Gah I'm a soppy sod Grin

Aww Oscar looks lovely. I am considering rehoming my children in order to take home Tramp though Grin

Good luck. I hope you have him home soon.

Is the blond GSD the Akita/GSD x by any chance? Thor I think he was called.

Vallhala · 29/01/2011 19:23

You won't find a blue-eyed Shep AFAIA. Sounds more Husky/Husky cross.

And thank you Bob, they are gorgeous but only when not walking mud through the house! :o

BobLoblaw · 29/01/2011 19:30

No, he was next door to Thor though, looked very chilled out, striking boy, I think dp wanted to take him home too Grin

Tramp had a little coat on today Dooin extremely cute, I think rehoming the children could be a plan!

I hope Bonnie gets a home soon, she looked very unhappy going back into her kennel :(

BluddyMoFo, I am IN LOVE with Tramp!!! :o So gorgeous!!!

jellybrain · 31/01/2011 11:47

Am really excited for you Bob Lob. Bonnie is almost identical to my CollieX and has started me off on the could she be partly beagle... hadn't thought of that one.

BobLoblaw · 31/01/2011 15:00

We went back and took Oscar and Penny on a walk through some woods, we were about 45 minutes and he behaved impeccably, I expect he will show his naughty side once we get home Grin

He's being neutered and we have our home visit tomorrow, we passed one with a different rescue centre 20 months ago but I'm still a little nervous.

Hopefully we will be able to pick him up on Friday or Saturday so he will only have been at the rescue centre for 7 or 8 days, which although not ideal doesn't seem too long. We are all very excited :)

Beautiful :)

BobLoblaw · 02/02/2011 11:45

We passed our home check, Oscar was neutered yesterday, depending on how he is we should be able to go and get him tomorrow or Friday Grin
