Anyone else know a staffy who won't chase anything?

A friend of mine has a staffy who sometimes walk. I took a ball last time, and threw it .... dog watched line of descent ...... dog watched ball land .... dog wandered off.

The dog's not unfit, old or overweight, is he just not very clever or is this a staffy 'thing'?

There are some which do and some which don't, just like any other breed. You really can't generalise. Likewise one of my GSD will play ball all day long, the other, just like my first Shep, will look as if to say, "And?".

I'd say your friend's dog is exceedingly clever, not wasting energy running after a ball for the amusement of us daft humans! :o

My staffie will not only chase the ball he then proceeds to bury it! Sticks, ball, Frisbees, kongs, newspapers, shoes,cuddly toys the daft old bugger bury's everything he likes,except bones they are dragged onto our bed to trash the sheets

My JRT wont chase a ball he just sits there looking dim
