Been invited to go away with some friend in feb for the weekend. We have a wonderful chocolate labradoddle who I am very protective of.
Anyone recommend a good place to kennel him for the weekend? Also how much is costs normally for a good kennel?
He hasnt been done yet but all jabs are upto date and he is wormed and flea treated.
I need someone who will keep his strict diet and his training up too.

Can you tell his my baby :)
HIs 9 months old

I was going to say, hang on, I thought...!!! :o

Not as close as you'd like but Amberlea near Ely MIGHT be an idea - I'm waiting on replies to my questions about it and will let you know as soon as I do.

You're not so terribly far from many of my rescue contacts so I have put a shout out amongst some of them too.

LOL Vallhala thanks, its only a weekend bt if we can find a place he likes we will use them often as we have a few trips into london this year.

Well, a fellow volunteer at PFK says that her parents and her sister both use Amberlea in Sutton and that they are all very pleased with them. I've been there with PFK when we've run stalls at the RGT dog show which Amberlea host and can't say that I have seen anything which would make me NOT want to use them.

I may have a perfect solution for you... but it's not kennels. :)

Debs is a 40-something year old volunteer for above-mentioned PFK. She has 2 dogs of her own, Jack, an adult Sprollie and Ice, a 9 month old BC. Jack is a pretty damn remarkable agility trained dog (despite being a rescued Irish stray with no history!) and Ice is learning too - Debbie trains them herself and is much respected for her ability and dedication.

She's not too far from you at all and has asked whether you'd like to consider her for the responsibility of caring for your Doodle in her own home. I can assure you that she's very experienced with dogs and exceptionally responsible when it comes to dog care and would be more than able to keep up your training routine and adhere to pooch's diet plan. I forgot to raise it with her but I'm absolutely sure that she'd have no problem whatsoever with you seeking references from rescue, her agility club or anyone else to vouch for her.

Naturally I'm biased because I know Debs personally, having met and spoken to her several times at the rescue, as well as "knowing" her as a daily poster on the PFK forum for the past goodness knows number of years but nonetheless if it were me looking for dog care I honestly would far rather entrust my dogs to Debs than a boarding kennel, no matter how good they were.

No offence taken if this idea doesn't appeal to you of course, but if it does please pm me and I'll give you Deb's details so you can chat to her about it.
