STOLEN - BORDER COLLIE PUP - DONCASTER

Help Find Mika

Mika is a 6 month old tri-colour Border Collie girl. She was stolen from her home in Wheatley, near Doncaster, on the morning of 28th December. Her Facebook pictures have been seen on a "for sale" free ad since but have now been removed - her owner is trying to trace the advertiser.

It is thought that Mika was stolen to prevent her barking - the thieves returned later and stole the owner's possessions. All she wants is her puppy back - please share this Facebook page and make Mika too hot to handle, it's the best chance we have of getting her back. Mika is noticable because she is not only tri-colour but also because of the unusual spotty markings on her face.

Oh I 'know' the owners from another forum and they are devastated Sad

They have little children who must be missing her terribly.

Hey Val. I don't live too far from where Mika went missing and I am a volunteer dog walker for my local rescue. I have shared the link with some people who are affiliated with other rescues in the area and who will share the link with all their dog loving friends too. I have also shared on another FB page of a local dog who went missing last year - this page has over 4 thousand local people follwing so someone somewhere might be able to do something or might know something.

Keep us posted if you can. Sad

Will do Notalone and thank you.

Are you able to link to the other missing dog's FB page please, so that I can put him on my page and spread the word with my own rescue friends? Am happy to do anything to help.

gorgeous dog, why do people do this?

Again, will keep eyes and ears open, but I live so far away from Doncaster, but do know lots and lots of dog people, so you never know.

Saltire · 06/01/2011 10:16

Did they get their dog back?

Vallhala · 06/01/2011 10:49

No, Saltire, not as yet.

Jax, I'm nowhere near Doncaster either, but a stolen dog can land up anywhere. Often they are found having been dumped by the thief because extensive publicity makes them too hot to handle. The thief may call the owner and allege that they were sold the the missing dog by "some bloke in the pub" or whatever but that they need to make sure the owner will reimburse the (normally excessive) price they paid for her and cover their petrol before they will return her. This is a common ploy and is used a great deal by miscreants in one particular section of society.

That, I think, is all we can hope for here, so please, share this on FB and to doggy friends no matter where you or they are as it will give Mika the best possible chance of being reunited with her owners.
