Good luck and happy first Christmas to your puppy.

right pics added.

Does anyone know how many times and how much we should be feeding him out of interest?

OP posts:
tibni · 12/12/2010 17:37

What a cutie. At that age our lab pup was fed 4 times a day and we used the guidelines on the bag for weight for portions.

Enjoy your little fella

maxybrown · 12/12/2010 17:47

Thanks, we just have a bag of what they gave us atm, so no guidelines!

Going to check it out anyway

OP posts:
tibni · 12/12/2010 17:49

We use Arden Grange - i'm sure the weights etc are on their website. Do you know the brand the breeder has given you?

maxybrown · 12/12/2010 17:56

Yes Iams.......though not read great reports??

They were on something else at the breeders house, then the shop chnaged them to Iams, so don;t want to introduce another one too soon

OP posts:
JaxTellersOldLady · 12/12/2010 20:26

If you go to the dogfood website then it will give you guidelines, but remember that they are only guidelines, your pup might want more or less... Xmas Grindoubt it though, being a lab!

Spidermama · 12/12/2010 20:28

Ahhhh congratulations. I bet he smells GORGEOUS!!

We will be getting our new pup soon after Christmas. Can't wait.

Off to coo over pictures now.

maxybrown · 12/12/2010 21:44

he stinks Xmas Grin but oh so cute so that's ok.

Thanks for advice on food! Will check it out, don't ant to overfeed him........lol

OP posts:
maxybrown · 12/12/2010 22:09

ooooooo lovely yy smell his paws smell his paws

maxybrown · 12/12/2010 22:26

well she did - BUT! The breeder gives them to a pet shop to sell, the pet shop changed their feed and just said "about this much" three times a day - I would just like to be more precise Xmas Grin she said "this" much 3 times a day

Iams website says to read the packaging for info - which I don't have as was given some in a bag - will check in shop tomorrow.

OP posts:
maxybrown · 12/12/2010 22:30

oops sorry repeated myself there Xmas Blush

OP posts:
JaxTellersOldLady · 13/12/2010 11:30

The feeding amount will depend on the weight of the puppy, so if she is 9 wks old and approx 5KG ish, I would reckon about 300-500g per day, but that is just a rough estimate.

Ask the pet shop, or go and have a look on a bag in the pet shop.

Slubberdegullion · 13/12/2010 16:13

ahhh he's gorgeous.

Enjoy him while he's this small as much as possible, they get big quick (see my 10 month old lab 'puppy' on my profile Grin

maxybrown · 13/12/2010 17:07

Ooh I wil look in a min thanks!

He is 9 weeks and weighs 3.75KG.

The wellbeloved in the shop said 80g - is that per day?

My local pet shop man was really nice and helpful

OP posts:
JaxTellersOldLady · 13/12/2010 17:19

that doesnt seem very much to me maxy, but then I have German Shepherds. Grin

maxybrown · 13/12/2010 17:32

ahhhh! So hard! My Mum couldn't believe how much he wolfed his food down but I guess that is normal? Confused

OP posts:
maxybrown · 13/12/2010 22:39

ok, sorry going on but he is having 150g of Iams a aday - it doesn't seem enough?

The 80g thing was wrong lol

OP posts:
TheMonster · 13/12/2010 23:03
