Loofa rolled in fox poo today, stinktastic is not even close! He has NEVER done this before, I hope doesnt ever again.

My friend said to put ketchup on and hose him down. It works for skunk stink, so should work for fox poo.

I didnt do this, I took off his collar, hosed round his neck and face and towel dried him off. Needless to say, the collar, my jeans, fleece and everything else went in the washing machine after.

YUK!So, does ketchup/tinned tomatoes really work?

I suggest shampoo. Head and Shoulders works for my lab because it is what is in the bathroom. you may need to "rinse and repeat". You have my sympathy

My sympathy too. My dogs regard the woods like I do a perfume hall; they just can't resist a quick splash of something pungent, the fouler the better.

Would love to know if the ketchup works - have heard it a lot. PetsatHome do a no-water antibacterial squirty mousse too, though it's nowhere near fierce enough to deal with fox poo. I keep wipes/antibac handcleaner in my jacket pocket and threaten the hose on return.

Tried this on my border collie a few years ago. somewhat unsurprisingly he ended up smelling of fox shit and ketchup.

Which is even worse if that's possible...

Farmer told us to use ketchup to remove fox poo smell. Something to do with the vinegar I believe.
