Best dog crate

What's the best kind of dog crate we should buy our golden retriever puppy-to-be? I want something that'll last but is adaptable from puppyhood to full adulthood.

we have a large crate, from PAH, the bottom tray slides out and it folds down flat when not needed.

We also have a huge doggy bag which is good for holidays or in the car. It folds down and has its own rucksack, so also good for if you are out and about and your dog needs its own quiet space.

We got one from here and it has been great.

We bought a larger cage with a divider for when our dog was a puppy so she had a smaller space. Of course, our original dog and two cats kept crowding in with her so we didn't use it for lobg.

Thanks. Smile

What are the pros and cons of different types and has anyone bought one particular type only to regret it and wish they'd bought a different type for different reasons?

We bought the XL one here with puppy kit for our lab (now 20 weeks old). It has been fine. We haven't used the bolt on bowl yet but will when we leave him during the day for slightly longer periods. The fleece is a decent quality and washes well.

Even though we used a large cage from the beginning we have not had any problem with our pup wetting or soiling the cage overnight.

We have a soft fold-downable travelling crate which was perfect until stoopid head me, forgot to roll away the zip up side properly and came home to a thoroughly chewed zip.

So now one of the zips is all sewed and duck taped up and she has to use the smaller side entrance/exit.
