went to the RSPCA shelter today

i know some people here dont like them, but its my nearest shelter.

there are so many dogs there :( loads of staffies as per usual.

an epileptic golden retriver who can only be housed with older children :(

a couple of small dogs.

and an old lady staffie who had been there for ages and cant find a home :(

we cant offer any of these dogs a home as have young children, but it breaks my heart each time i pop in.

maybe in 3-5yrs time, when my youngest are older they may consider us as suitable :(

I know it breaks your heart doesn't it.

We have two rescue dogs one from the RSPCA and the other from through Lurcher Link

The first was taken in by the RSPCA with her brother and sisters at 8wks old, we got her when she was 6 mths.

Our 2nd is a bull cross lurcher who it 6yrs and had been in foster care for 2 yrs he is a cuddle monster but had reached the end of his useful working life.

there is a couple of lurchers in there as well. and a gorgeous pointer.

Lurchers don't need as much exercise as people think they have a short burst of engery then they sleep lots.
They are often in rescue as people use them for hunting and when they don't cut it they get rid.
The 6yr old isn't cat friendly as he was a worker.
I would love to have a massive place to give them a home.
Maybe when we win the lottery.

I am not allowed to go to the shelters as I get upset.

Lottery win will be great- buy a big house nearby and then who knows?

Our local NCDL shelter has lots of Border Collies and Staffies.

big house, no neighours, big field/garden a must! snd that just because of the noise my kids generate.

this would be ideal for us!

I think that would be ideal for lots of people Secret!!!

and animals as well.
