13 week Puppy, scared of the dark?

I have a 13 week old cocker spaniel, called Bella. She has been a dream dog since we got her, goes through the night, great with the kids, etc etc. Due to a sudden illness i am abit behind where i wanted to be on training her etc, she is getting good at sit and stay and comes to her name. She has always gone on the paper in her pen when left and overnight and goes outside for poos.

However, i can be here all day ( out and about school runs etc, not in solidly) and we have no accidents on the floor. Then when evening comes and kids in bed she has free run of the house (as she does most of the day) and we find she just wees,on the wooden floor. At first we thought it was attention seeking as my dh was home, but i actually think she doesnt like going outside in the dark/ cold etc.

Has anyone come across this? any tips etc.
we havnt been telling her off just put her outside and say "wees outside" and clean it up, its never in the same place and she can do 5/6 little wees over the evening.

It is getting annoying as my dh keeps standing in it, so its not very nice, plus she is soooo good and sweet i dont like to think something is upsetting her.

She is still just a baby. She probably cannot hold her bladder yet.

Try and anticipate when she needs to go out and take her. Take a treat with you. As soon as she starts to do anything add a command. Our is 'go potty' Blush. When she is finished treat her and take her inside.

They usually need to go staright after a long nap, after their mad half hour and around 15 mins after eating or drinking.

Keep looking for signs that she needs to go too. They normally start circling and sniffing the floor.

Toilet training can take days/weeks/months depending on how consistant you are and how quickly your particular puppy learns.

thanks for your help, i dont think i made myself clear enough, she is toilet trained for 20 odd hours a day! just in the evening she seems to not want to go out and do it!

All day she will take herself out if door is open, or whine so i let her out if shut or if she is in pen (when i go out/ eating etc) will go on her paper. NO ACCIDENTS at all all day and through the night. But between 7ish and midnight when dh goes to bed, she just wees anywhere! its weird

Could you start going out there with her? It's probably because it is colder on a night and she wants to stay warm.

Go back to basics on a night.
