Puppy spayed 8 days ago not eating

Hi,

My bichon poo puppy was spayed 8 days ago and seemed to recover well and has been eating her normal food (dry kibble) but has not touched it in the last couple of days - I even held out some sausage and called her yesterday but she did not even get out of her bed for that. Have just put some rice down for her with a bit of cheese (her old fave) but so far she has ignored it. I have taken her up the road and back on the lead a few times to start introducing walks again and she is ok there but she is not showing much enthusiasm for anything otherwise.

Am worried - will call vets tomorrow but is this normal?

Give the vets a ring today - just explain what's going on. They're best placed to advise you but yes, I would get her seen asap.

Have left her with the emergency vets overnight (spoke to them on phone but then was worried about her so took her down there) - they going to do blood tests and put her on a drip and will let me know.

Bloodtests show nothing significant, protein and red blood cells low (not too sure what this means) she is dehydrated (again, not sure how, why etc). Will have to collect her from emergency vets in morning and take her to my vets for them to see what happens next she on a drip overnight. Poor baby girl.

Not insured either (stupid stupid stupid) so is mounting up one hell of a fee.
