What age can a dog be castrated my handsome man is 8 months is that to early?

I have also noticed matted hair, not easy to see and obviously has been there since before i had him. Will the vet cut it out or a groomer? or can i get like special shampoo or something?

Each vet seems to have their own preference on age for neutering. While they are under anaesthetic, they can carry out anything else that needs doing such as clippng claws, dental work and also fur I would expect.
