Dangerous Dog Treats

Let this be a warning to you all.

Old Bella is always on the lookout for tasty training titbits for her pooches. Hot dogs are a firm favourite, but she sometimes uses those economy packs of little bits of roast chiken from the supermarket. If they go past their sell by date who cares - the dogs like them a bit high....

Well, for the past couple of weeks there's been an awful smell of Dead Thing in the porch. In the car too - some days, not always. Bella's had the car upside down pretty much, but to no avail. Today she found the culprit - a very, very old plastic bag of very, very old chicken bits, in the pocket of her fave waterproof jacket. Pure liquid. Pure, vile liquid it was. OMG - the smell. Trust me, you cannot imagine how bad it smelt. So, in the (wheelie) bin immediately (of course) and jacket into washing machine with special wash stuff for waterproofs. At the end of the cycle? No better Sad so my fave jacket is now hanging on the line with a pocket full of bicarb.

Any ideas/suggestions/derision welcome Wink

Yours

Smelly Bella x

Thanks, Olihan. Appreciated.

Thinking back, I have actually had the audacity to go shopping in that jacket recently. I graced the hallowed space of the White Company but a few days back. And Cath Kidston too...Blush

Did you not notice people backing slowly away from you?

Bella32 · 08/09/2010 14:33

No - that's what's really scary, isn't it??

And I got all shirty on a perfume thread on here the other day, about how people's natural smell is so much better than expensive perfumes....

If MmeLindt shows up, I'm busted Grin

Eau de Rancid Chicken by Bernard Matthews.

There must be a market for that.

How did you sit in the car with yourself?

Bella32 · 08/09/2010 14:39

I really don't know. But I did. A lot.

I said to dd the other day, 'There's a really bad smell in here, isn't there?' and she agreed. I sniffed all over the car, and at one point, bending over to look under a front seat, I thought I was getting close. My pocket must have flipped up nearer my face Shock

OMG! Try soda crystals in the wash and febreeze ... lots of febreeze Grin

Bella32 · 08/09/2010 14:53

Thanks, Mrsfred. I'm just worried about wrecking the waterproofing. Though I can see a decision may have to be taken - waterproof stinking jacket, or sweet-smelling leaky one.

Just been out ot the washing line for a sniff. It ain't looking good Sad

small pieces of frankfurter also make ideal rancid treats when forgotten about.

No tip for cleaning I'm afraid since my spaniel had eaten the pocket before I could get my trousers in the wash.

If you don't have a pocket eating spaniel I suggest scissors and a needle and thread
