Oooh, thank you! Just feeling a bit overwhelmed. I know what I need to do and never seem to do it. 😪Still, the Bloody Mary should pick me up, or lay me out!

ScottBakula · 14/08/2023 22:41

@StopStartStop , I hope the Bloody may did the trick and you are feeling better.

@sashh well l love a full English, and quite like pizza so I will give a breakfast pizza a go.

Findyourneutralspace · 15/08/2023 01:05

Sauntering in after a period of absence. Sounds like I’ve missed some treats! I wonder if Fernando could rustle up a little something to make the teenagers go to bed?
Or knock me out. I don’t really mind which.
I skipped tea tonight too as I was anxious. That’s passed and now I’m peckish…

I’ll just sit here with my cat and the kitten bees, and watch the stars for a while…

sashh · 15/08/2023 01:59

Morning.

@Findyourneutralspace welcome back.

I'm in the mood for something sweet so I'm making French toast but with various breads so Florence's sourdough and panetone, banana bread. walnut bread and raising bread.

Fernando is making some honey and lemon cocktails, great if you have a cold, great if you don't.

@HobnobbingAboutHobnobs hope your baby is feeling better. Maybe a Greek pharmacist can help?
Hope everyone who was up worrying is chilling now or asleep. I'm hungry and knackered so I'd love a really chocolatey hot chocolate with marshmallows and maybe a shot of amoretto plus a couple of slices of Florence's french apple tart. Then maybe I'll have a stretch out on one of the deckchairs in the garden.
Cheers all x

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 15/08/2023 02:03

Ooh cross posted with you @sashh
I'd love some walnut bead! How are you?

Findyourneutralspace · 15/08/2023 02:08

Walnut bread sounds just the ticket! Thank you. I’ve never had it before - does it go with butter?
@HobnobbingAboutHobnobs i hope you’re settled now. Funnily enough, hobnobs were all I could manage for tea IRL! Nice enough but not a patch on the lovely fare on offer in here 😊

Jackienory · 15/08/2023 02:58

Sounds scrummy but I can’t keep anything down 🙁

Findyourneutralspace · 15/08/2023 03:27

Oh no Jackinory…. maybe just a cosy spot with a blanket and little sips of water?

My cat’s come to join us. Regular visitors will know he has a penchant for marshmallows but Florence doesn’t always have them in… he’s purring hopefully…

sashh · 15/08/2023 03:32

@Jackienory the food here is virtual so you can keep it down.

Er I was intending to make French toast with the breads, do you just want bread and butter instead?

OP posts:
Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 15/08/2023 03:47

French toast sounds ace @sashh !
Sorry you're feeling ill @Jackienory .

sashh · 15/08/2023 03:59

OK French toast it is.

OP posts:
Findyourneutralspace · 15/08/2023 04:12

Oh sorry! I missed the bit about French toast! I was too excited by the prospect of walnut loaf.

I’ll have whatever you’re making. You’re far more refined than me so I’ll trust your judgement. And thank you… it’s very much appreciated 😊

sashh · 15/08/2023 04:52

<hands out French toast of various types>

OP posts:
StopStartStop · 15/08/2023 08:21

Oh, wow. French toast from banana bread. That's amazing. And honey and lemon cocktails. Lots of them. I have a bad feeling about today.

sashh · 15/08/2023 08:41

@StopStartStop Oh I hope nothing bad happens, here have a a plate of French toast.

OP posts:
StopStartStop · 15/08/2023 11:36

Mmm, thank you. French toast, yum.
So far so good, @sashh , thank you.

sashh · 16/08/2023 03:42

Morning.

Well recently I have been watching a lady on YouTube who is attempting to live on WW II rations for a year. She has a website with PDFs of the recipe booklets issued so I'm going to make a war time recipe, Sweet Haggis.

It's made with oatmeal, suet, dried fruit and curry powder and is then baked for an hour and a half.

Florence is making jam tarts and Fernando will be pouring beer out of a jug.

I will not be making all the recipes, I do not think I have the stomach to boil a sheep's head and having found out what 'melts' means I won't be making anything with that either.

Morning.

So no one liked the haggis then?

OK lets g for traditional, I'll make a buffet of fruit, juices, hams, cheese yoghurt and Florence;s pastries. I'll take orders for cooked breakfasts and Fernando is making bucks fizz.

OP posts:
TokyoSushi · 17/08/2023 02:57

Morning! I have a migraine 🙁 so please can I order some magic tablets from the medicine cupboard, a bacon sandwich and I might as well have a Buck's Fizz too, kill or cure!

I'll just be sitting quietly over here in this dark corner, perhaps I'll take a blanket and a kitten bee for company.

Thanks @sashh

sashh · 17/08/2023 03:16

I'll get a kittenbee to fly some magic painkillers to you while I put the bacon on. WOuld you like sliced bread, a crusty cob or wholemeal bread?

OP posts:
TokyoSushi · 17/08/2023 03:30

Ooh a crusty cob would be fabulous, thanks!!

sashh · 17/08/2023 03:31

One crusty cob bacon butty, there are sauces on the table if you want one.

OP posts:
Britintheusa · 17/08/2023 03:50
