I’m sorry to hear that @sashh . I hope you heal soon.

I’ll ask Florence to make plain, almond and chocolate croissants. We can also add cheese or ham to them.

sashh · 05/08/2023 07:26

Thank you Minnie, I was carrying a (thankfully plastic) jug of water and tripped, landed on my elbow and the jug and then sort of twisted my shoulder / upper arm.

That sounds awful!
Can I get you a drink and some parkin? It matures, improves with age.

ScottBakula · 06/08/2023 01:41

@sashh I hope you are feeling OK and recovering.

I have just got home from a on call shift ( I like the £s but by christ the hrs are hard) so I am treating my self to crackers , brie , olives , home made pickles ,and onions . I have eaten most but going back for seconds soon would anyone like some ?

Morning.

I'm on the mend but still a little slow so I'm keeping things simple.

I'm just going to make porridge, there is a range of berries, toppings, honey, nuts to sprinkle on top.

Florence is making croissants and Fernando is using the berries to make cocktails.

I’m awake the dogs have had a silly half an hour - whining to go out and then jumping around and then refusing to go to bed as they want to play ….. argh!!!! All have been taken into different rooms but all are lying by each closed door whimpering it’s 4 am - there no intruder, it’s absolutely silent here, they are just being funny onions - so tempted to lock them outside until 7 am ….

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 06/08/2023 07:07

Sorry about your arm @sashh would a lightly sweetened orange blossom iced tea help? I've just made a jug.
I'm just going to have coffee this morning and a sit in the garden with the kitten bees

sashh · 06/08/2023 07:18

Orange blossom iced tea sounds wonderful.

@Duchessofspace your dogs sound like dram llamas.

OP posts:
MinnieMountain · 06/08/2023 07:25

Porridge with berries and nuts and a coffee please. That should set me up for our first big walk in the Lake District today.
I love that phrase “funny onions” @Duchessofspace .

sashh · 06/08/2023 07:44

@MinnieMountain do you want a pack up for your walk?

OP posts:
StopStartStop · 06/08/2023 07:47

Morning! Hope everyone has a great day. Porridge and tea - lovely!

MinnieMountain · 06/08/2023 07:49

Yes please @sashh .

sashh · 06/08/2023 08:07

OK a flask of coffe, some kendal mint cake and how about a ploughman's lunch? Pork pie, puickles, cheese and a bit of salad.

Actually in the lakes you might need something more substantial so I''l throw in a game pie too.

OP posts:
MinnieMountain · 06/08/2023 08:46

Delicious @sashh . Thank you. The 9yo also likes ploughman’s.

StopStartStop · 07/08/2023 04:47

Morning! Hot milk with a little honey seems to be the mood of the moment.

NoTeaNoShade · 07/08/2023 05:15

I'll join you in one of those StopStartStop

sashh · 07/08/2023 05:37

Morning.

So I was in the mood for a posh breakfast so I thought I would look at the Ritz, the one in London and this is what you get for £45

Ritz Speciality Selection Tea & Coffee Freshly Squeezed Orange, Grapefruit, Apple, Pineapple, Cranberry, Carrot, Tomato Juice

Freshly Baked Croissants, Danish Pastries & Bread Jam, Marmalade & Honey

Selection of Cereal

Fruit Macedoine or Mixed Berries Natural & Fruit Yoghurt

York Ham & Artisan Cheese

I think if I ever stay I will be heading around the corner to find a greasy spoon.

@MinnieMountain are you out walking again? You will need something substantial after this breakfast so steak and kidney pudding with veg followed by apple and blackberry crumble - 'll put it in a mini hay box so it is still warm when you eat it.

OP posts:
MinnieMountain · 07/08/2023 06:07

Morning!
Coffee and a croissant please @sashh .
Or you could go to the Wolseley if you wanted a very nice breakfast for half the Ritz price.
I am indeed walking. Not so far as Helvellyn nearly broke the 9yo. Steak and kidney pudding is perfect. Thank you.

sashh · 07/08/2023 06:41

IRL I make steak and kidney pudding on my slow cooker, must do one soon.

Findyourneutralspace · 08/08/2023 02:10

Sorry to hear about the fall Sassh. How are you doing now?

Once I’ve had some muesli I’ll rustle up a batch of Parkin if you like? It’ll be the Lancashire version because that’s how we make it this side of the Pennines but I’m sure no-one will mind the slight change of recipe. You just put your feet up.

sashh · 08/08/2023 05:02

Morning.

Well as @MinnieMountain is in the lakes I think we should have cumberland sausages. Obviously other things to go with it, bacon, eggs, bubble and squeak, tomatoes, mushrooms and beans.

Florence is making soda bread and Fernando is experimenting with kendal mint cake cocktails.

@Findyourneutralspace still sore and I can't raise my arm properly yet, it is less painful than yesterday though so I'm on the mend.

OP posts:
MinnieMountain · 08/08/2023 05:55

Morning
I’m a bit achy today, so I’m going to curl up in a big chair with a blanket.
Cumberland sausage and bubble and squeak please @sashh .
Kendal mint cake cocktails sound fun.
Glad to hear you’re recovering @sashh .

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 08/08/2023 10:51

Morning all! I'm late but I'd love a Cumberland sausage sandwich with brown sauce and a big mug of tea. I see it's raining out again so it's lovely to get comfy in a nice warm cafe

StopStartStop · 09/08/2023 05:00

Good morning! I have a huge mug of tea. Is there any soda bread left?

sashh · 09/08/2023 07:34

Morning.

IRL I had a really bad night so I'm not up for cooking but to have a bit of fun I'm going to indulge in Masterchef Australia and give you wonderful people a challange.

Cook breakfast, there is a full pantry and the garden is in play, go.
