Why are you awake?

My DS is 2 years 3 months, and he just started sleeping through the night yesterday. In his bed! But what am I doing? I am awake checking up on him if everything is ok 🫠🤦🏻‍♀️

I am also 15 weeks pregnant with #2, and you'd think my body would know by now that uninterrupted night is a gold dust in this parenting world and would just fall asleep, but noooo... Here I am lying awake, thinking about most random conversations I had 10 years ago.
Why are you awake?

Woke up at 3.30am and texted ds18 to ask him why he wasn't home yet. He came home but I can't get back to sleep!

Menopause and HRT shortages = insomnia chez Hoof.

And awful sciatica which is more painful than childbirth. Fun times.

HateEatingInTheDark · 26/02/2023 04:14

katiecustard7 · 26/02/2023 05:10

Crippling anxiety , I've only had 2 hours ish of sleep every night for the past week

whyyy321 · 26/02/2023 05:14

Baby in the depths of a sleep regression, been awake since midnight - he wakes hourly all night at the moment, sometimes more. despite splitting nights with DH, I'm so exhausted and demoralised I don't know what to do. He has refused the cot since 4 so is sleeping on me so I can't even doze now. I can't see a light at the end of the tunnel at all.

ScreamingTree · 26/02/2023 05:18

Because I had friends over and thought I'd go easy on the wine so had a couple of diet cokes instead, forgetting how sensitive I am to caffeine. I only slept 11-1. I'm exhausted but my mind is racing.

HobnobbingAboutHobnobs · 26/02/2023 05:19

1yo will. Not. Sleep. Milk, nappy change, cuddles, shushing - only thing that works is walking and rocking. Thank goodness for the carrier.

Samanabanana · 26/02/2023 05:23

Self inflicted, I went out last night and now can't sleep due to being hungover. I've been awake since 3am!

Nowthatlovehasperished · 26/02/2023 05:31

Anxiety. I do have a lot of very real problems at the moment, but why does everything seem so much worse in the dead of night?

Someo · 26/02/2023 05:32

My arsehole of a dog making out they needed the toilet only for them to go outside to sniff for 5 minutes. 🙄

I love her really but I was having a lovely sleep and now can't get back off, even if I could DD is an early riser and will be awake soon. 😫

Shockhorror22 · 26/02/2023 06:11

I had to tell DH I agreed to go for a week to stay with my annoying aunt and cousins and help them look after a bunch of feral kids. And that meant flying to Scotland (he doesn’t fly) and it was the week we’d planned our lovely holiday in Wales. And then . . . I woke up!
So I’m very much enjoying the sweet, sweet relief, even though I should be trying to go back to sleep.

Oh no, so sorry, what kind of a dog is it? Greyhound?

cassiatwenty · 26/02/2023 14:08

@Nowthatlovehasperished At night there's more flare ups and inflamattion and anxiety is generally worse, yes.

You're not alone xx

She's a poodle cross. A very dramatic one. 😄

Barnowl25 · 27/02/2023 02:22

Bottle feeding a lamb the ewe rejected every 3 hours. It's freezing cold, the cats decided they are starving and will waste away if I don't feed then. The dogs wanted to go out. All animals now snoring and I am wide awake.

Sunbird24 · 27/02/2023 02:35

Pleurisy. Can’t find a position to lie in that doesn’t hurt.

Babewhat · 27/02/2023 02:51

Absolute crippling anxiety, to the extent I’ve withdrawn from a career-related meeting I had tomorrow. Never felt like this before - I have just thought though that I had the implant a couple of weeks ago, and a google has shown that plenty of other people seem to suffer from anxiety related to Nexplanon. Tempted to call 111, my heart is racing and I have a awful sinking anxiety that is totally new to me, I’ve experienced depression and anxiety after my parents died but this is something else

Haha at the cats 🤣

Twiggywinkle13 · 27/02/2023 03:21

My little indoor cat is missing, has been since about 7pm. I’m beside myself Witt worry and also very heavily pregnant 😔😖

MaryKateDanaher · 27/02/2023 04:38

Ruminating on things DM said recently about my lack of success in life (in her opinion), and work-related stuff. Hope you all manage to score a few hours.
