I think this has been shown elsewhere. As s2 is being filmed

starts next Tuesday not tonight

But I haven’t seen it hence the thread

‘Fantasy Island’ takes place at a luxury resort, where literally any fantasy requested by guests is fulfilled, although they rarely turn out as expected…

Delving into the “what if” questions – both big and small – that keep us awake at night, each episode tells emotional, provocative stories about people who arrive with dreams and desires and depart enlightened and transformed through the magical realism of Fantasy Island.

Serving as steward of this mysterious island is Elena Roarke (Roselyn Sanchez, “Devious Maids,” “Grand Hotel”), a descendant of the iconic Mr. Roarke. Elena set aside her own ambitions, and even the love of her life, to uphold her family’s legacy.

Sophisticated, insightful and always charming, her calm exterior masks the challenges of the responsibilities she has assumed.

Assisting Elena is Ruby Okoro (Kiara Barnes, “The Bold and the Beautiful”), a young woman with an old soul who arrives on Fantasy Island with a terminal illness and is given a new lease on life there; and pilot Javier (John Gabriel Rodriquez, “Miranda’s Rights,” “Rosewood”), who also is the head of island transportation and a jack of all trades.

Ah i keep missing your reminders as I'm on the app and rarely check emails and then when i do I feel like i should check some of the programmes out.

Just saw this one in my inbox and its one i may check out. You mentioned you think someone has done it before and there was a film by the same name with seemingly the same premise a couple of yers ago with i think her name is Lucy Hall(?) from Pretty Little Liars, and i found the film entertaining.

martinisforeveryone · 19/04/2023 09:29

Thanks @Blondeshavemorefun I can’t get Sky either, so I won’t be in for this one.

I’m currently annoyed as I really want to watch Succession, and I keep seeing the mention of Obsession and being fooled for a flicker of a moment 🙄 Quite obviously it’s not the same kind of thing at all 🤭

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/04/2023 14:37

Thanks Blondes.
Alas, no Sky for me either

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/04/2023 14:56

So many of you without sky

Guess you have Netflix ?

I finally got round to watching it and it was interesting I thought. Different takes on people's desires although the woman staying I had a feeling early on it would happen.

There didn't really seem much meat on the bones of the desires though. They did more with the eating desire and going into her background than the woman dieing. But it was a somewhat obvious story. I guess that's to be expect when you're fitting two stories into one, 1 hour programme.

I'll watch next week's I reckon l

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2023 10:39

It did seem Strange

Will they all have one desire. Be happy it's fulfilled then go back to their usual life

OP posts:
Mouldyfoodhelp · 28/04/2023 10:42

I feel like it's inevitable it won't be all plain sailing but I feel the majority will as it seems the premise of the island and its different to the film I saw where on the TV series they seem to know about the island and its rules, on the film they were surprised by it all.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2023 20:46

I haven't seen the film @Mouldyfoodhelp

OP posts:
Mouldyfoodhelp · 28/04/2023 23:20

Mouldyfoodhelp · 28/04/2023 23:21
