anyone watching Gareth Malone goes to Glyndebourne?

i am just loving it.

im so excited for them all, they are looking and sounding fabulous. i would have loved that opportunity at 16/17.

its really taught me a thing or two about opera too! the knight crew looks so exciting!

They sounded absolutely BRILLIANT singing for Mr Lord Glyndebourne or whoever he was, didn't they?

I had a lump in my throat over the lovely Stefan, but was so sad to see Carell go.

I'm always up for as much Gareth Malone as the TV networks can throw at me .

ive never seen him before today im sad to say - but am loving this series.

i was gutted - absolutely gutted to see Carell go. he really could have made a go of it - i was so sad. i dont think he even saw what an opportunity it was for him. he had real charisma and was just right for the knight crew gang.

and i was jumping up and down when they said Stefan was in the main show! he is lovely and his foster mum should be so proud!

I'm really enjoying it.

But is anyone else shocked to discover that Gareth is 35! I assumed he was my age (early 20s) and had been some kind of child prodigy

i loved it. thats the kind of reality tv we should have, not the bloody crap they keep cheaply turfing out.

OMG-how fantastic was Elsie?

she was good wasnt she - and her drawings were fab too (she was drawing when they interviewed her at home and she was talking about getting a hard time in school)
she had a brilliant voice. a career in singing or creative pursuits awaits her im sure!

Has anyone else noticed that Elsie is a lookalike for the wonderful Joan Sutherland? Hope someone who can help her develop that voice picks her up. Great natural talent and how good could she be with some training! Gareth's an inspiration and has a great gift for communication. Love the way he gets the best out of these kids and broadens their horizons. What a star. Congratulations to all the kids who took part and to the brave mums too.
