I know there are lots of CSI fans on here.

Interested to know other people's take on the ending

Ahh - I missed it, what was the ending?

Saltire · 15/06/2010 08:04

I think this season of CSI:NY has been pretty pants and unbelievable to be honest.

Goosey - did you see any of the episode?

I saw Shane Casey escaping at the begining and I'm afraid that was it.

The whole rear window episode last week left me a bit bewildered.

If they kill off Danny, I may never watch again!!

Now you see Danny really annoys me - don't know why but I can't take to him at all. However, have thought that they are building him and Lidsey up for a tradegy for some time - no one really ever gets to be happy in CSI land.

Well Shane Casey managed to track down where Lyndsay and Danny were going on holiday (by apparently bugging their phone). However, not one of the CSI team knew where they were,a nd unforunately Danny left his phone at home.
(like that would happen, that not one of their colleagues knew where they were going?,a nd that someone in his job, knowing a criminal was on the loose who may be after him, would leave his phone at home)
Anyway, Casey tracked them down to a lighthouse,a nd tried to kill Danny, but of course the CSI team got there just in time and fight ensued with Casey going over the edge of the lighthouse into teh sea.

Then they go back home and are sleeping when Danny hears the baby cry. he gets up and there apparently is casey holding the baby with a gun. Then we see Lyndsay wake up then a gun shot and it goes black

Silly me, I thought lighthouses were built on rock and a fall from one would mean certain death. Not sure that I missed much by the sound of it.

It was total bollox!!
All four of us sit down to the CSI's but by the end of Saturday I'd had enough.
Normally Dh is moaning saying 'As if..' and I tell him to shut it's only a story but on Saturday I was with him!

Rubbish!

I think the whole episode jumped the proverbial shark to be honest.

Although DH and I have theories about the ending.
I think it's a dream (the ending not the whole episode)that Danny thinks he sees Shane Casey, Lyndsay hears a noise and reaches under the pillow for a gun, and shoots - but at who or what I don't know.

DH thinks it's a dream too. He thinks that Danny, still in a dream state, sees what he thinks is Shane Caseywith the baby, so attacks him, but is in fact attacking the baby, so Lyndsay shoots him.

We both think the bit at the start of the episode where she describes how she would kill him, is foreshadowing, setting tehg round for later

"I thought lighthouses were built on rock"

Yes, but there is generally a walkway around the windows at the top, and there can be a vertical drop of the rock on which the LH is built, hence enough sea could be below to accept a person without them hitting any rocks.

A drop of over 70 feet is something akin to falling onto concrete if one was falling onto a flat calm (from when I was in training for Merchant Navy and we were taught how to pilot a lifeboat, and why you should not jump from the deck into the sea as you could break both legs, hence need to descend in lifeboat if at all possible or to reduce height of the drop and get away from the ship ASAP).

So a drop onto a downward movement of the sea might not be life/leg threatening so long as you were able to get away from the rocks afterwards (not impossible either, depending on currents).

While the black screen and gunshot might be deemed rubbish, it leaves every option open (in case someone doesn't want to renew their contract). After all, Lindsey was hinting at the stress of not knowing if Danny would get back in one piece was not something she could put up with, wasn't she?

(Sorry, don't have any recording, going on memory before someone with Sky+ or a Humax box replays it and tells me it was Danny who was saying it cannot go on like this...)
