Channel 4 tonight 9pm.

Will anyone be watching?

I'm looking forward to seeing how things have gone since the families were helped out.

I thought the private school thing was gimmicky. The girls seemed happy so it was obviously a good thing for them - but I was watching with a bit of a face when the headmaster was saying "We were watching this and I thought - hey, we could help these people, take it further." Why didn't he think "It's so sad that children grow up in poverty, I could help out lots of children like this" - why those children? I think he just wanted the publicity

The mum's at college doing a housing course which is really good for her, she still has the little one at home. Nothing was mentioned about her debt situation.

least she was getting out more

its sad that there are 1000's of familys leaving like that

Blondes - I'm far from minted and always moaning about not having enough holidays etc, but it's a hard realisation when you see people that are deprived.....

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/05/2010 19:48

i know monty does make you think tbh and be grateful x

Monty100 · 03/05/2010 21:04

It so does Blondes. It's a disgrace to this country really. The programme itself is awful in its' format, although it does bring it home that people are really so poor, and helping one family although it's great, is a drop in the ocean. Poverty should not happen today.

Feel so sorry for that mum, she was selfless in a way letting them go. Hope it has a happy ending for all of them.

I thought it was pretty condescending tbh. I mean how did that headmaster know they would be so bright? he wouldnt have just anyone joining the school, no matter how good the telly opportunity was.
