Who remembers the sci fi programme from the 80's?

Well I was flicking through last night and came across a remake on ch 135 Scify. It was on too late for me so I only watched a few minutes but have set to record the series.

The original was terrible but I loved it. Hope this one is just as bad!

A remake - yippee - I used to love it. But hang on, that was in the 80s, when I was young, free and single and could stay up into the wee small hours drinking and smoking - I am usually passed out in a chair by 9.15 now, glass of wine clutched in my hand - thank heavens for skyplus!

Ok sorry to lower the tone - but just finished watching the first one... The executive producer is called Brian Wankum.

Thought Lost was lady good, others a bit schmaltzy but we'll see...

Can anyone remember a sci-fi program/film back then when a woman was impregnated by a robot/alien, gave birth to a metal baby, (which she was horrified by) but then she picked off the metal bits to reveal a baby underneath?? It's been bugging me!

southeastastra · 14/04/2010 21:41

It is a bit like a Firefly reunion on tv just now, what with Malc in Castle and Wash and Inara in V!

The original V was good for what it was, but I had heard the original cast were coming back for this and the story was to be that the aliens were returning for another war. I guess remakes are easier.

But I'm still going to watch.

And why has SciFi renamed itself SyFy?

Watched the first episode last night and enjoyed it.
Mind you I would say this new series is a losely based adaptation rather than a remake. The characters are different and have different names which I found a bit confusing at first. Kept waiting for Donovan and Diana to show up.

oh, I loved this when I was a teenager

I loved the 80's series and used to sneakily stay up and watch it, even though it was on a school night.

Also enjoying the new series, the first two episodes were gripping.
