Grew in popularity through word of mouth, don't show script to child actors.....you know the one.

Never seen it and want to watch it.

I loved the first series of this but have steadily found it less and less funny as the children have got older and more "knowing" IYKWIM. My worst fears were confirmed by this episode - I think I smiled once during the dad on the bridge bit but the rest was woeful IMO.

Fans here - although some of it is too close to the truth that it's not funny. Big Cat Diary is something that DH and DS1 can relate to...

same here rq - it has gone downhill to the point where the children are rude and insolent rather than cheeky and funny.

I think they've got the balance wrong now. When it started there was a storyline which was occasionally punctuated by the children saying or doing funny things. I remember really laughing at the scene when the little girl buries a mouse - it was funny and not at all affected. Now the children have taken centre stage and I feel as if I'm being bombarded by their monologues - irritating and exhausting in equal measure.

I also wonder whether the child actors have been affected by their huge popularity and are now trying too hard as a result.

I did laugh though at the bit when the automatic loo opened and the Mum was still sitting there - DS2 is always trying to do that! Thankfully he hasn't succeeded yet...
