Who do you think are the contenders? Personally, I'm not fancying Glamour Model Dorothy's chances much.

No - too nightclub singer. I liked the Welsh and Scottish girls who sang last.

Goingspare · 03/04/2010 21:10

Yes, but it's so dull...

I liked the Welsh girl best, but they all look and sound just like last year's lot.

pranma · 03/04/2010 21:12

it is so boring-I will watch when they audition for Toto!

NonnoMum · 03/04/2010 21:28

Think they are quite sweet really, and so young!

Can't read what "The Lord" is thinking; sometimes he is looking away, shaking his head and mouthing "noooo" with a face like a slapped arse, but then he praises them like crazy...

Idontknowhowtohelpher · 03/04/2010 22:55

I'm not keen on Charlotte Church as a judge. She speaks too fast, says "really " too often and looked a bit odd tonight. (I am so shallow )

saggyhairyarse · 03/04/2010 23:27

I quite like CC and how she doesn't fluff it up and sugar coat it for them, though tonights outfit was very "lady of the night"...

I didn't really like the 'rock star' Dorothy, I did like Bronte and Sophie.

The Lord is funny, he seems to switch between bored and horrified for the most part

RebeccaRabbit · 04/04/2010 13:52

Sheila Hancock looks terrific - she's nearly 80!

Molesworth · 04/04/2010 13:53

I missed it last night: who was the 'wild card' eleventh contestant, and who went out?

TheFirstLady · 04/04/2010 19:19

Emilie was the eleventh Dorothy and Amy went out - no surprise there, really.
Is Sheila Hancock really nearly 80 - she looks amazing.

Thanks TFL

Tbh I'm only watching it because I love the judges!

ChasingSquirrels · 04/04/2010 21:13

I watched this tonight cos I was at my mum & dad's. ALW looked like a total perv, seemed to be salivating over some of them. Gross.

DebInAustria · 04/04/2010 22:01

Barbie Dorothy was the right choice to go, but what a naff ending - shoes to ALW and then hoisted up into the air !!

oxocube · 05/04/2010 09:35

Agree re Sheila Hancock. She is beautiful and intelligent.

MrsJamin · 05/04/2010 10:44

I think it was a pity Amy went, Emilie had a much poorer voice and should have gone. I like Steph and Lauren, I think Lauren will win.

CinemaParadiso · 05/04/2010 12:32

MrsJamin - I agree, Emilie should have gone. I really didn't enjoy her singing.

DebInAustria - totally agree on the naff ending, it was completely cringey! What are the BBC thinking??

Anyone like the girl from Middlesbrough, I think she's called Jessica? I think her & Sophie are good.

carocaro · 05/04/2010 12:57

OOh when she was up on that moon belting out Over the Rainbow, I blubbed, great voice, fab for Legally Blonde!

That girl from M/boro is dreadfull, manic eyes, all OTT and insincere and all Jazz Hands.

The Welsh one, Danielle are great, raw and real.

Molesworth · 05/04/2010 13:16

Agree about Jessica's OTT-ness. Amy has a great voice, but she's just NOT a dorothy is she. Surprised she made it into the final 11 tbh.

Also agree about the festival of cheese at the end. Something v creepy about handing ALW the shoes, and, yes, he did look like a perv

cyteen · 05/04/2010 13:29

I like Bronte, Sophie and Danielle best. Jessica is so madly OTT, it makes me cringe.

Think it was a shame Emilie got brought back over all the other candidates, she's not that great really. I would have liked to see Tasheka go through.

oxocube · 05/04/2010 14:31

I think Emilie is weak but I do think Amy, although she had a lovely voice, just looked too old and a little 'hard' for Dorothy. She was (still is, I suppose ) also very tall which might have caused problems with casting, I suppose.

oxocube · 05/04/2010 14:32

ooh, delete last suppose! I am supposing too much

phoenixflower · 05/04/2010 14:39

Loving this show. I think Stephanie,Lauren and Danni are my favourites. Stephanie will win, I would put money on it ... can you bet on things like this??

crocdundee · 05/04/2010 19:46

Enjoying it so far - much preferable to anything with Cowell at the helm.
Really like the new panel too, esp Sheila Hancock. She's constructive and pleasant, though a bit luvvie at times, but I think with her career she's earned the right to be!
Like most of them so far - think the Welsh girl (so beautiful but voice a bit weak) and the Scottish one (had to turn the sound down!) are the weakest but will prob change my mind by next week!

redwhiteandblue · 05/04/2010 22:34

Hating that man, whatever his name is, as judge trying and failing to be Barrowman with zero charisma

Loving Sheila Hancock whose criticisms are really intelligent

Disappointed in Charlotte, I think she waffles and doesn't say anything interesting

The cheesy ending is brilliant, these series are always super-camp, that's the whole point. Especially when it's about Dorothy

And of the girls I think Jessica from Middlesborough has the most potential and I can't understand why they were so nice to the screechy Scottish girl

strandedatsea · 09/04/2010 02:39

Just caught up with this as had downloaded it on Iplayer.

My money is on Lauren to win. She is one of the older ones and has already "proved" herself on the stage as she said she had just finished playing Wendy in Peter Pan. I don't think they risk putting someone in a leading role in the West End who hasn't already proved they have not just the talent but also the staying power.

Look out for who isn't crying when the girls leave at the end. You also have to be tough to get a part like this.

Loving the Lord looking like a slapped arse comments. Totally agree, he always looks like he's thinking "oooh no, I don't think so" and then tells the girls how brilliant they are!
