And I'm not ashamed of it!

Who's with me?

to the tv

muggglewump · 25/02/2010 17:34

I've not seen it for a bit, but I love it too, and quite fancy Matthew and his mismatched ears.

mosschops30 · 25/02/2010 17:35

has anyone noticed that he spits quite a lot when he gets excited and he's talking, most days he has some sort of dribble down his chin
must be a nightmare when he gets excited in other areas of life, his gf must be positively drowned in fluid

BooHooMonkey · 25/02/2010 17:36

I Love TWS but I am never sure whether some of the comments are tongue in cheek or not. Also preferred it when there was more phone-ins and less er, MW. But agree it's all down to which panel they have.

hana · 25/02/2010 17:37

he is horrid! would make an awful dad. didn't he have a nasty splikt with a gf not long ago? yuck. think I might have to hide this thread.

sungirltan · 25/02/2010 17:38

also i emailed in about something and they asked if they could ring me on the show.

i declined.

dh tried emailing about something else and he didnt even get a reply. ha ha

BitOfFun · 25/02/2010 17:41

They do SO pillage MN threads for ideas- remember, not all the talking points are about current affairs: some are plucked from thin air, like "Should you expect the NHS to pay for vasectomy reversals?" or "Is it acceptable to eat in a supermarket before you reach the checkout?" etc etc. TWS frequently uses MN as a bit of a cribsheet for discussions like that, and often even quotes "one poster on mumsnet reckons that blah blah blah" etc when they introduce the topic.

batwoman79 · 25/02/2010 17:42

sorry you are right he has mentioned MN before. However, I am getting the impression that some (not all) people on here think that TWS get ALL their topics from MN. I dont think they do. But I might be wrong in my impression.

However. TWS is one of my fave progs, but I also have to say it is the only daytime TV I watch. I get up, get sorted watch TWS then get on with housework or toddler groups with my DD.

drosophila · 25/02/2010 17:56

But I think the panel works best when you have someone you disagree with like Lowri. Scott is the best though.

RTKangaMummy · 25/02/2010 18:49

Matthew's fiancée has just had a very bad etopic pregnancy and was rushed to hospital ~ this was a few months ago ~ but he mentioned it again when talking about etopic pregnancies recently.

He missed several shows the week she was rushed into hospital and was obviously very upset by it and he said how great the doctors and nurses were etc.

I hope they get to have some children in the future

RTKangaMummy · 25/02/2010 18:55

Lowri Turner annoys me beyond belief one of the reasons is that:

She refers to herself as a twin rather than a triplet, because one of them has severe autism and she finds it embarrassing to have to explain this.

Just think it must be a bit sad for the family for the 3rd triplet to be kind of dismissed.

Imisssleeping · 25/02/2010 19:00

I like the show but think he's very rude to callers who don't agree with what he thinks.
He also gurns alot when he's talking which puts me off.

batwoman79 · 25/02/2010 19:29

I too would like to see Matthew with children cos I wonder if his views would change if he were to have one of his own.

BitOfFun · 25/02/2010 19:51

OMFG, I had no idea about Lowri Turner's triplet. What a cow-bag

batwoman79 · 25/02/2010 21:51

Id like to be a panelist on the wright stuff.

Please Matthew can I please?

That and top gear are the two programs I would try to get on if I was famous.

TwoIfBySea · 25/02/2010 22:00

I've watched this from the days when Kate Silverton was on the panel and that other guy whose name I don't remember - James something or other.

Agree about Lowri, she is really annoying and overly opinionated about herself.

This week has been really good but did you hear the email when a "working mum" viewer slagged m'net off? Does she not think some of us work too?

BitOfFun · 25/02/2010 22:43

I remember Kate too!

I'd love to be a panellist too-maybe he should consider a special Mumsnet edition of the show?

BooHooMonkey · 25/02/2010 22:51

If we are signing up to be on the panel can I be on the list please? Is it me or has anyone else noticed he is often off 'sick' on bank holidays?

BitOfFun · 25/02/2010 23:04

He hasn't worked a Bank Holiday in eons

LouMacca · 26/02/2010 08:17

Oooh and I love Mark Little too, how could I forget him, he is probably my fave guest.

Always thought that Lowri was a twin too. Infact I remember when Dominic (not sure of his surname) was on the panel a few weeks ago. He has twin boys and mentioned something they did and Lowri defo referred to her twin sister, how strange when she is a triplet?

Look forward to seeing you at 9.15am Matthew!

MathsMadMummy · 26/02/2010 08:59

For the record, 3m is just my shorthand for MathsMadMummy - sorry for confusion, it's because I'm used to another board I used to post on where everyone would put their 'name' at the bottom - but as nobody else does here I suppose I'll stop!

RE Lowri Turner - I think she is a twin AND a triplet, I have a feeling she's a triplet but two of the triplets were identical twins? i.e. there were two eggs and one split into twins? I could be wrong about that though.

My favourite panellists are Dominic Holland (for those who couldn't remember his last name!) as he's very family-oriented, also Janet Ellis and Ann Diamond (they are the type of women you wish you had as an aunty!).

I also only watch TWS in the morning, DD watches a little bit of Milkshake and then it's my turn! There is so much cack on for the rest of the day. I'm usually BFing DS when it finishes and DD is well trained to go turn the TV off as soon as the credits roll! It doesn't go on again until 6:30... did I mention my other guilty pleasure is Hollyoaks

Oops this was a long post - clearly I'm just killing time til 9:15

3m (last time I write that!)

thesunshinesbrightly · 26/02/2010 13:25

I can't stand the programme or that vile little man!

drosophila · 26/02/2010 17:06

Dave Gormand (sp?) is good too. I like having a rant at the screen when I don't agree with one of them.

ruddynorah · 26/02/2010 17:14

twin of triplets

compo · 26/02/2010 17:19
