I agree with lady blahblah Saw it tonight and she is as bad as ever

onebadbaby · 23/02/2010 21:51

There are some contradictions in this program though- on one hand she is telling the boy that it is unhealthy to be overweight and on the other she is telling girls that they should be happy with who they are.

But, although unhealthy to want to be anorexically skinny, it is also wrong to teach these girls that we should be happy with our bodies, regardless- it would have been just as worrying if the girls had looked at pictures of themselves or pictures or of other obese people and accepted that as ok. Getting a balance is tricky...

I think she talks tripe tbh She is overweight hrself and has no kids so really is no authority on either but i suppose I can switch off her voice goes right through me too and her grammar is shocking

PureAsTheColdDrivenSnow · 23/02/2010 21:55

good point onebadbaby.

I just hope the message of the program gets across to some of the viewers who might be in similar situations.

I was very at the attitude of the 6 and 9yo's?

I'm going to watch this on catch up telly so can't comment on the actual programme , but I do want someone to point out to her in these programmes that parents losing confidence in their own parenting abiity is in no small part due to parenting 'experts' spouting one size fits all theories to sell their books/TV programmes.

PureAsTheColdDrivenSnow · 23/02/2010 22:49

yes, be more aggressive. [scowl]

the woman in the program clearly didn't?

mumof2point5 · 24/02/2010 03:08

i like jo. don't buy into the school of thought that just because she doesn't have children...... my consultant can never have a baby but i bloody well listen and trust him and his advice
