oh SHIT
i forgot
is it worth finding on more 4?

MilaMae · 23/02/2010 15:16

Yes definitely,it's won loads of awards it was just stunning, there is a website.

It really was amazingly made but gut wrenchingly tragic.

Having said that his parents(and friends) are such amazing people it was uplifting in a strange way.

no wonder i coudlnt find it just

fishie · 23/02/2010 15:18

i came in half way and got confused - it was a bit too long i think.

MilaMae · 23/02/2010 16:06

Fishie,it was a long story,it was a man's life,death and unfortunately more.

The involvement of all the people in his life, the details of his full life highlighted how the effects of murder ripple out and how unfair it is. The full portrait of Shirley's evil character needed to be shown too. Also it started out as a letter to Zachary then it all changed whilst it was being made, the end wasn't foreseen .

The length made it what it was but I was knackered today.

milae i had written a bit more about how what was going to happen was obvious from the point i started watching (about half way through) but deleted it because it gave away too much.

i clearly lost a lot from missing the beginning.

noeyedear · 23/02/2010 17:39

I saw this, switched it on by chance about 10 minutes in. I didn't see the end coming, and it came as such a shock, it really affected me all day. My DH was quite upset by it too, which is unusual for him. A really heartbreaking story. Made me so angry- it was all so avoidable. Fishie, I think you did have to watch it from the beginning. I nearly stopped watching about an hour in, and in some ways I wish I had, but it was amazingly made.

MilaMae · 23/02/2010 19:23

It affected me all day Noey too.

I think his parents are amazing people though and the love all his friends obviously feel for them was something positive. I hope they're looking after them,it kind of inferred they were.

I googled around and his friend who made the film had info on their campaign, think it's gone to parliament and looked encouraging.

The insanity in Shirley's voice on the phone was one of the most chilling things I've ever heard and so obvious. I've no idea how the Bagbys managed to keep so calm when she went on about Zachary needing a photo of his mummy and daddy. You really do wonder about the Canadian authorities.

So so awful. I've been feeling upset all day. I don't think I've ever gone to bed feeling so emotionally wraught.

One of my DSs is 2 days older than Zachary too so that didn't help. Another DS is a chubby 8 month old just like him in the videos.

The parents are amazing.

MrsPixie · 23/02/2010 21:45

breathtaking and heartbreaking. What an awful twist of fate for him to get involved with her

She was obviously insane

DontCallMeBaby · 23/02/2010 21:56

It was an incredible film. I know one of the English cousins and had no idea that this had happened in his family.
