It was on in the 80's and he had a horse he loved and sometimes a friend with a limp. This old woman kept trying to kill him.

GOSH i remember this, did he live in like a derelict barn and the old woman was like a witch/shrewy type woman?

dinny · 13/07/2005 21:31

oh, loved this - really badly dubbed, I think...

hercules · 13/07/2005 21:32

Yes, bad dubbing.

There were loads of badly dubbed series weren't there?

Wasn't there one about cinderella?
And one about a tree?

vicdubya · 13/07/2005 22:19

You surely don't mean the Singing Ringing Tree Katymac?

God that programme was scary. Still have nightmares.

And Silas looked like a frog.

Ah, kids today, they miss so much!

Catbert · 13/07/2005 22:22

I have to admit to really liking Heidi too. Even now I occasionally find myself singing the annoying theme tune... Do do di do do di dodi, la laaaa, la laaaaaah!

Ahem.

katymac · 13/07/2005 22:22

I remember a kids programme (not dubbed) about a girl travelling with other people possibly after a disaster/WW3? and there was something wierd going on with the electricity pylons and funny music.

Everytime I mention it people look at me as if I were daft and change the subject....can M/N help?

Tortington · 14/07/2005 00:44

isn;t it a nice day

WigWamBam · 14/07/2005 09:19

Is it The Changes , katymac?

marjoriedawessassy · 14/07/2005 09:51

I still sometimes find myself humming the tune to Tom Sawyer - another of those went-on-forever, endlessly-repeated-during-school-hols things.

Dee dee de dee dee, de de de dee dee-ee dee
La la la la la l-laaaa, la la la laaaaa

Tom was my 1st crush, aged about 8!

(But Silas was unspeakably crap.)

edodgy · 14/07/2005 09:53

Wasnt there an even worse badly dubbed one about a boy and his smile or something?

georginars · 14/07/2005 09:57

Silas was brilliant! but the top photo on that site looks like Victoria Beckham. I liked his geeky friend

katymac · 14/07/2005 11:17

Thanks WWB - I was starting to think I was imagining it, It's a relief that I can defend myself as it does exist

sheepgomeep · 14/07/2005 16:50

I remember silas. Didn't he have a horse?
