MrsMorgan · 09/02/2010 21:28

Steve reminds me slightly of my xp, same sense of humour

MuffinToptheMule · 09/02/2010 21:28

poor Lisa. I actually feel terrified watching it.

spub · 09/02/2010 21:29

Lisa is so sweet. I remember that feeling of being terrified yet resigned.

Feel so sorry for the 18yo son - he's gonna have oedipal issues for the rest of his life.....

SparklyGothKat · 09/02/2010 21:29

I had an emergancy CS when I went into labour at 35 weeks with DS1 who was breech, there I was thinking I was booked in for 38 weeks and he decided to make an early appearance.. its very scary when you have to have a CS suddenly

PlumBumMum · 09/02/2010 21:29

we were never on our own when I had my 3 and was lucky enough to have my babies in one shift so no swapping midwives

OMG, the poor girl. The poor little mite. Hope it turns out OK.

CrowAndAlice · 09/02/2010 21:30

When i was PG with DS1 in 2000 - many moons ago i endlessly watched a channel on sky where American women gave birth in sunlit rooms with MANY DRUGS....twas beautiful most of the time.

Oh the contrast...

plus3 · 09/02/2010 21:30

hello, I think so far it has completely highlighted how useless men probably feel whilst their partners are in labour!

Heated · 09/02/2010 21:30

Colleague's baby was born with his intestines and bowel outside the body, they covered his bowel/intestines in a clear plastic bag and over weeks gradually stretched the skin and pushed it back in. He's 21 now.

Missus84 · 09/02/2010 21:30

Talk of the catheter would be enough to freak me out!

In the style of filing i mean obv - not the actual emotions / efficiancy etc.

NormaSknockers · 09/02/2010 21:31

I had an EMCS with DS & was totally freaked, the MW was so lovely & kept cupping my face in her hands & talking really calmly to me as I couldn't stop crying, feel so much for Lisa

gaelicsheep · 09/02/2010 21:31

It looks very like where I gave birth tbh. This time round doesn't look like it'll be much different.

VengefulKitty · 09/02/2010 21:31

I was never alone wither - but then again when I arrived at the hospital I was fully dilated and told to push immediately

wonderingwondering · 09/02/2010 21:31

I wasn't sure about watching this as the trailer was all full of jumpy shots and screaming, having had 2 difficult births, but it is a lovely programme, brings back the (good) memories.

I don't think the son being there is a bad thing, he's an adult, could be having his own children soon (but prob won't now...). Is quite nice if he's going to support his mum.

brimfull · 09/02/2010 21:31

booksgalore - yes mine was super quick , decision to theatre in 10 minutes
dh needed a poo and nearly missed it
