Just bizzarre but funny.

I can;t help but think that if the Daily Mail were to produce a "talent show" this would be it. I bet they start a competition to win a cottage in the commuter belt with roses round the door.

No because I quite enjoyed that and the DM brings me out in hives. If the DM went into TV production they'd do an expose of broken Britain. How it ain't what it used to be because of all them immigrants and scrouging single mothers.

campocaro · 15/01/2010 23:13

Shame that Alex went-I thought his take on opera was original
Surely Jimmy O has to go next...
Is it just our TV or was there something badly wrong with the sound mix-particularly when the audience reaction came in?
Overall I thought it was being done on the cheap and rushed.

Molesworth · 15/01/2010 23:18

BUGGER I missed this thread.

Yes campo, I noticed sound weirdness too, and agree that it felt a bit cheap and rushed. Would have been better on the BBC. I would've liked to have seen more practising/rehearsing footage, but then I like hearing all the technical stuff.

Katisha · 15/01/2010 23:27

I don't know what to think about this programme.
It certainly seemed rushed tonight but maybe it was meant to be introductory.

I hope they will put in some stuff about how opera singing is different from pop singing and why and how its done, and some stuff about how opera isn't actually an elitist thing, because on tonight's showing it's all about wearing posh clothes and singing in a foreign language.

Was totally nonplussed by the woman in the terrible dress attempting to sing while stuffing a mic down her throat, watched by Gary Barlow. That was terrible. Couldn't hear a word she was singing either.

pissovski · 15/01/2010 23:30

only saw darius and bernie nolan, but mmmmmmm at Darius!!!

Peaceflower · 16/01/2010 10:34

Have been looking forward to this, especially to ogle Darius . It seems the great British press have decided to ignore this show and there is faint coverage today in the papers.

Me thinks this show is a grower, having got off to an uncertain start, nobody knows what to expect.

Can't wait till next week, now they've got all the obvious song choices out of the way.

cheapskatemum · 16/01/2010 23:09

Alex James, Myleene Klass and LLB are all weekend presenters on Classic FM. Yeah isn't Alex tall? When was he overweight? Was it when he stopped taking drugs & started eating cheese instead?

TheFallenMadonna · 16/01/2010 23:19

Mandy

See? Mental block"

TheFallenMadonna · 16/01/2010 23:20

Am hypnotised by Myleene's necklace. Can't decide if I like it or not.

muppetgirl · 22/01/2010 21:09

squeaver · 22/01/2010 21:10

It's nice that they have that big "opera" sign on the stage. Otherwise, we might get confused.

Hello, btw

SweetestThing · 22/01/2010 21:11

muppetgirl · 22/01/2010 21:11
